The book has just arrived and its brill. Some of the drawings l have seen before also of Ronald Searles....he and Phillip met in the prison and have originals in The Imperial War Museum, we saw the exhibition some years ago.

The book is called "The Will To Survive" by....Arthur Godman, mine is an ex library book bought from A----n for approx £6.00 incl p&p. Its come all the way from Dunfreshire which is ironic as Phillip lived in Scotland :o)

The print has'nt arrived yet and l'm getting concerned it may not be my grandmother and father, but hey its still a Meninsky

Jude ;-)

And what a classic example of the style of the time it is.

"He published Mother and Child: 28 Drawings in 1928"

I hope you can continue to collect more of the family's work!

-- have you seen the couple of works by Philip on ebay now?

Ooh Jude ~~

That's wonderful. I'm sure it will have pride of place in your house.

That one thing to put on my CV now, I've lunched with Bernard Meninsky's granddaughter. :-) :-)

So pleased for you

Wonderful keepsakes.
No wonder you are thrilled and proud too, I guess.

I'd love to see a photo of my great grandmother, who was so important in my Mum's life.
We know there was a large photo of her and great grandpa, which hung in the cottage, but what happened to it is anyone's guess.
Grandpa was at my parents' wedding, but his wife was long gone, by then.

One day...................
