hi hayley.
charlie will alow you to put your hands in his mouth while eating(it does not bother him in the least)you can pull his tail or hug him while hes eating and hes not bothered.we had a new addition to the family 9ms ago, a lovely granddaughter, but charlie loves her and sleeps next to her chair while shes napping to protect her.(sorry about spelling mistake, alow instead of allow can spell honest) hes only become naughty in the last few months and we dont know why.x

Well it looks like it's all early enough to be able to nip it in the bud which is good. My collie is as far from being alpha as it's possible to be..even though she's the *dog* pack leader not the house one..but now and again she still has a go at trying to barge past me to the back door.......like kids...if they can get away with anything...they will ...a bit of tough love and she soon realises it ain't going to happen lol x

Sounds like he's reached late teenage/adulthood and is 'testing' the ground!!
As others have said - be very firm with him - he's just a 'hoodie' in disguise.

So say I with 3 cats - two of whom (the males) are trying to establish 'ownership' of a bed/settee - big enough for all 3 - delivered today - and they're nearly 5 years old!!!
The very sensible female has b*gger*d off!!
The boys are destroying it :-(

kay
we dont have an upstairs, but hes not allowed in the bedrooms and he never goes anywhere near them.hes a very nervous dog, and would never have made a gun dog,any sign of a gunshot would have sent him to hide behind the nearest bush.x

Oh yes, twas me- I threw potential 'beau' - not b/f - he was in England , over the 12 ft wall into the jaws of Shamaal, a Saluki of incredible pedigree, and therefore little brain, who enjoyed ripping the *rses out of invaders into 'his' territory!! LOL

I'd like to thank my parents for locking me out!!!! :-0

edit: I've just met all 3 cats in the kitchen, forced 2 out and read the 'riot act' to the third (boistrous one, who had the audacity to spit at me when I stroked him whilst he was eating!! - first time in 4 years!)
Unfortunately for him, he can't 'escape' as I've locked the cat flap due to un-neutered ginger tom hanging around.
Peace is restored, but men in white coats may arrive soon :-S
