Don't mind either.
Normally I use my old faithful PC that hubby built yrs ago, he's upgraded it many times.
Hubby has a laptop , so I can use that when and if I wish.. which is generally after 'lights out' but I prefer to use it with a mouse.
Of course you can take the laptop with you when away, which we do.. but it 's usually me that uses it. :)
I sit on the settee and use a smooth shiny cushion as a mouse pad.. works well.
Son graduated 2 yrs ago in IT computing he has a PC with a smashing 19 inch flat screen monitor, he doesn't want a laptop! He used a memory stick whilst at uni and sees no need for a laptop, he now has a job as a Web designer, so is working on them all day, except for meetings.

I love my PC which I use in the spare room.
I bought a laptop so I could be sociable and work in the lounge but it really hurts my eyes and gives me terrific headaches. It has a touchpad but use a minimouse as my finger tips aren't sensitive enough for the pad.
I can appreciate the benefits of both though.

I'm on the the computer about 16 hours a day with laptop on a tray with beanbag. I use touch pad most of the time but had to buy a mouse after I broke my left hand clicker.

Mouse sits on a dinner place mat which is wedged between laptop and tray,so it is just an extension added to the tray but I only use it for C&P
