I was doing a google search for some terms in a thread on living relatives because I was sure I had seen the search before ... google works a lot faster than the search function here .... and the living relatives thread in question showed up in the board list for the living relatives mirror on that site ... so of course I clicked :-)

I have also written a reply on the suggestions board but just want to make everyone aware that there are absolutely no plans to merge our boards with Find My Past. The url in question takes you to a test version of the FMP Ireland site (which is why it begins with dev. because this is where new features are developed) where the FMP developers are currently building new boards.

They are using the Genes boards as a base, but when complete, these boards will be totally separate.

I do think the site I found is just a development site, if you look there are a couple of posts from staff

it may be just for 'playing' with this site and possible changes ...

I wish they'd concentrate their efforts on making this site work - the issue over random discounts hasn't been admitted yet.

I deleted one of my posts on GR but it still appears on FMP - I don't need an explanation - but would this mean we are unable to delete our posts on FMP without paying?

Rose, I agree, it would have been nice to be informed but then courtesy to paying members has never been top of the tree with GR. :-( :-P

Yes anything we post is 'findable' by anyone via google...but you do have to have some idea of what to look for if you are not just looking at GR itself.

Would have been a nice thought if GR had said for example 'from 1st July your posts will be shown also on FMP boards we are developing'...or words to that effect.

That it is still in the design stage is apparent from the lack of posts on other boards...apart from a couple by ' design staff' I assume.

try clicking on a posters name on FMP. :-S

just shows that GR members opinions count for nothing as i cannot remember being asked about this
