I cannot be there but shall be thinking of Jim, his family and friends; and, as he posted on facebook, after Sue at the seaside had posted photos of a meet in Portsmouth that took place a few years ago: "sweet memories".

Hello Joy yes I remember you so how are you keeping? This end I am divorced and now seeing a man who treats me well.

Thank you, Speedy. I would like to be there to pay my respects but won't know until nearer the time if it will be possible.
You and I met in Poole a few years ago; Jim gave me a lift to the meet.

R.I.P. Jim.

Just giving a Nudge Bev.

It looks a lovely place to be buried. I am too far away to come as you know but I shall be thinking about Jim on 5th at 2.30 and raising a glass.

Hi Beverley, hope you will able to attend the funeral as it's good to have some representation from here where Grandpa Jim touched so many lives. I am sure there will be lots of people from all walks of life who knew this real gent.

I feel for his daughter, it's a horrible thing to have to go through an address book of a loved one and give people sad news. I still have my late Mum's address book which served the same purpose but it did put me in touch with distant relatives I hadn't really known before and we are still in contact, so the cloud had a silver lining.

Thanks Bev and, although a sad occasion how good to see you and hope you are well. Sadly won't be able to go.
Pleased that you have the e mail address Elizabeth, I have it on my home computer but not on this netbook here on holiday in Tenerife. I think Colin will probably know as he will have seen it in the local paper I'm sure. It sounds typical of Jim to choose a woodland funeral bless him.

The Sustainability Centre is a wonderful place.
I won't be able to make the funeral, but as my Brother in Law is buried there, I'll pay my respects to Jim when I'm up there - not that I'll be able to find him! Half the time, when I go to see my BiL, I'm at the wrong place!!

If it's raining - wellies are a definite.

Thanks Beverley for the info. Lovely for Jim to choose a place like this. Sadly unable to go as I've recently had knee surgery, but will be thinking of Jim and raising a glass / cup in his memory.

So do I, I'm hoping to be able to go, but have got to check with work first to see if I can get the day off as it's a long way for me to travel so can't get away with just a half day.
