I rarely have poached eggs in hotels as they cook them in a pan with vinegar, which spoils the taste of the egg.

Managed to get my bags today from Aldi at£1 a shot,i have tried all ways to poach an egg ,in water with vinager ,a poacher.coddler and always get them hard boiled ,grrrrrr,we will see what these bags are like ,lol.Fred. :-)

I too use the Lakeland ones - they are better than the small ones that used to be available, as the cups are slightly bigger so that you bring a little water to the boil first (in the microwave) then break the eggs into it and cover them so that they cook both with the conventional water and a bit of steam. I do find it better to cook at a lower temperature than Lakeland suggests to avoid any explosions!

And a strainer spoon is best for taking them out

Not complaining about the spelling but my brain is opposite to a dyslexic so before I could work out that it should be 'tongs' I had already imagined 3 or 4 people doing a Haka in the kitchen-jl

Easy Peasy.....in the microwave,

One at a time.... egg in a cup prick the yolk with a wooden tooth pick saucer on top 30 seconds if a large egg 35 seconds Hey presto !!

A Perfect poached egg.....
