Barbinsglos you did ask, so hear it is. :-)

There's More to Christmas...
There's more, much more to Christmas
Than candle-light and cheer;
It's the spirit of sweet friendship
That brightens all the year;
It's thoughtfulness and kindness,
It's hope reborn again,
For peace, for understanding
And for good will to all! :-)

Barbinsglos here is somthing you might have written. :-)

CHRISTMAS HUMBUG

It's Christmas again, and as I stand here gazing up at the stars
I wonder what they reckon of it all gazing down from mars,
It's all beyond me it were so simple when I were a lad
You got what you got and was mighty glad.

People are to greedy today damned computers and mobile phones
Text messages and all kinds of pictures and musical tones,
Rush and tear all over the place creating pollution it's a disgrace
Yes, that's the trouble with the world today it's all to fast as if we're in a race

Well Happy Christmas to you if there is such a thing today
Families ain't so close as they used to be what do you say,
All the fun seems to have disappeared to me it's all a bit weird
Well I've had me moan so i'll have a pint now and shave of me beard.

This red suit seems to get smaller every year
Still as long as I keep the children happy my dear,
Cause they're the ones that keep a smile on my face
God bless you all and I'll see you next year.

A new Brit couple have just moved to Menorca, so I have invited them for Christmas lunch, knowing that things are not the same here & she won´t have had time to suss out where she can get what she wants, or work out what she can have as a substitute because what she wants isn´t available (eg Xmas pud&cake, mincemeat, suet etc, etc).
Don´t think she actually believes that these things aren´t available. She´ll soon find out.
Have just realised what I have let myself in for, but we Brits have to stick together.

I say every year....."I will ignore Christmas as long as possible, until panic sets in. I will not buy tons of unnecessary food. Everybody will just be given money, even the grandkids. I will DEFINITELY cut down the Christmas card list.
And what have I done today? Bought a dozen presents, a Christmas pudding and assorted nibbles, and 6 packs of cards.

I fall for it every year!

Quick everyone. There is a certain Irish cream yummy drink on offer fro £11 at a certain supermarket where i live. If its on offer in one the others will follow :0)

I got a bottle for my Aunt for Christmas. The first pressie I have bought so far. Well its not exactly the first. I sent my eldest off with Christmas in her suitcases in October. She is working on a cruise liner and will be away for six months. Celebrating Christmas day in the Caribbean lucky thing. :0)
