I have been a member of this site for many years.
First of all I would like to say that this site is definitely value for money.
I have recommended that people interested in starting genealogy use the basic package rather than paying huge monthly and annual fees to other sites.
That said I believe that we should expect to pay more for the basic site so that it allows genesreunited to continue this value for money service. I am now in Australia but I think I still only pay around £20 annually (I am sure someone will advise me if this is totally off the mark). I would happily pay between £30 and £50 annually for this service.
I know that other sites offer more research material but they charge exorbitant fees on an annual basis that makes an interesting hobby unattainable for many people.

The basic is good. Perhaps GR should look at how they could add value to the other services. I have to use Scotland's People and pay £6 for 30 credits which run out very quickly. What I definitely would like is a way to print, in a pleasing format all the data I have researched over the years.

I wonder if anyone at G R actually read these posts. I would suggest that you do something about the site before you lose members. I tried to print off some of my tree only to find it wasnt possible. Why not? Surely it cant be that hard to sort out. You have a lot of disgruntled members at present complaining at the lack of availabity open to them. What is wrong with you. Get it sorted. Roz.

You used the words Genes Reunited with the respect word all in the same line, never ever seen that done before on here. That is just amazing. :-)

You take a "Standard" subscription without permission. This seems pretty useless so I have to agree with "rip off standard sub" and "little more than rip off but you can get the information for Platimum free elsewhere". Plain speaking and clear.
Genes Reunited isn't riding high on respect at the moment.

Ought to say "you cannnot send messages but you can receive them from paid up members and reply to them"

you can search the names on the site to find possible matches with the names in your tree
you can upload photos and scanned images to your Keepsafe and attach these images to relations in your family tree

Seems some things have been left out like... site may run slow, site may be down due to maintainance, Error message may show due to site updates, etc that is if you can use the site at all. If you wish to be honest then be honest. The site needs to be sorted out before the rename of the membership packages is even thought about.

if changes need to be made personally I think leave well alone and please bring back the old tree

Whilst some members are still on Gold - this was introduced before we had the 1911 census - Gold is no longer an option to buy. Gold members are still able to renew their Gold subscription if they wish.

P.S I also have a major grumble about gaining access to the site these days too - I have 3 seperate trees on here using my one email address but with different passwords Now though that is un-acceptable for GR and to get logged in I have to put passwords in about 8 times before a box pops up with all my accounts on asking me which I'd like to log into..... AGH...... More frustrating time wasting GR !!!

I'm a gold member as I've had the package for years despite GR always trying to get me to upgrade to Platinum.....

I don't care what they call the new packages as when my subscription is up I don't think i'll be re-newing....?

Don't come on much now anyway as just the thought of it makes me groan these days - I'm driven absolutely bonkers by the census search and get v.v.v. frustrated by the fact that the dropdown census year box has vanished and that you can't just scroll between years for the same person - you have to go onto each year and add their details in again ---- WHY ? Whats 'BETTER' or 'IMPROVED' by that I want to know ?????

So when is Genes going to make a comment on this thread - or is it going to be like all the others - they let us argue among ourselves then just tell us they are going to do this that or other and we have to lump it.

They asked us - they should have the decency to make a comment.
