Still very slow, took over a minute to open this thread! All other sites are fine.

One lady has posted the same thing 5 times on Genealogy - probably kept pressing submit until something happened!

Hi everyone,

We're currently experiencing a problem with our servers which our technical team are investigating. Sorry for any inconvenience this has caused.

Maybe it would be better to shut down for a couple of hours to sort it rather than us all battling to get on at the same time as the techies are trying to solve the problem. Not even getting the rror message now, just not able to get on, or when on to open a thread. :-(

Thanks for that update Natasha - I am not trying to be funny but since I joined in August last year we have been told more times than I can remember that problems are being experienced with the servers and that the technical team are investigating - yet we always seem to be in a one step forward, two steps backwards situation.

This site was recommended to me, but from the problems I have experienced, especially since the middle of December 2012, in all honestly, had I known about these problems I would not have joined, if it was not for the valuable assistance of the volunteers on the genealogy boards I would not have renewed my subscription earlier this year.

Thank you for the message Natasha - it is very much appreciated.

Would it be possible to continue to keep members updated?

Thank you.

I cannot access any thread's so no use in staying on the site,
no viewing any record's,just a complete pain, when my hubby come's in later I will have no chance of using computer.
what a waste of time.

Have you thought about employing someone for your technical team who actually knows what they are doing as the ones you have at the moment do not seem to be much good seeing as they haven't been able to sort this site out for what seems like months.

Natasha

Are we to assume that "no news " was not good news

And everyone went home .....

There has been no improvement and if anything things have got worse - it has just taken me nearly ten minutes to get into the site and be in a position to post.

As an experiment, I took a totally clean PC and used a configuration that would probably be similar to that of many users of this site.

I also measured my data usage at the same time and discovered that I have used almost four times the amount of data I would normally use.

These issues are costing many of us money!

As stated by George earlier, who on earth are they employing?

I am sure that GR will offer some form of recompense to members who are losing out due to their problems - losing out because they are not able to use a site they have subscribed to and losing out because they are using up data allowances unnecessarily.
