Huia :-D Many thanks. I was 35 and 39 when our two children were born. OH seven years younger than me and looks 20 years younger. Ellie is now 32 and son is 29 next week. I will be 68 soon!!!!! :-0

I was beginning to wonder if I would ever become a grandfather because she has been a teacher for 10 years and was starting to say things like "I think a career is more important". Don't think children are essential to a good marriage, but they are usually a great blessing. And this little poppet is very much loved and should have a happy and secure future. And her mum and dad already love her to bits.

Just like we did 32 years ago when Ellie was born. Very proud of both our children - both with degrees and neither ever been out of work. And both exceptionally nice people.

Many many thanks to Hayley for this thread. I have only just had a chance to read it through and it is lovely and I thank all of you.

I told daughter Ellie about it last night and have printed it off to give her in a couple of days. Will try and work out how to put Amelie May up as my avatar.
