Tenerife Sun Report 5 Aug 2014 09:13

Before I married my late husband I was his partner, too old to be a girlfriend and I really dislike the term lady friend. My husband had a business and a business partner. Not the same meaning as just partner. If anyone invited us out and I wasn't there he would say that he would just check with the queen before saying yes.

I also have an ex husband but have never minded being known as Mrs ?

Quite right too Allan, if I may say so!!
Many years ago I bought my OH the tiniest book (2" square) 'For Husbands'. ;-) He came across it today and was chuckling and spluttering as he re-read it.

It is full of little quotes: eg

'Before criticising your wife's faults
you must remember
that it may be these very defects
which prevented her from getting
a better husband than the one she married.'

I find the little gems in it keep him on his toes!! ;-) ;-) :-)

Annx If I DID call my wife 'the wife' or 'the missus' there would be no divorce, but there would be a very slow and very agonising death....mine! :-0 :-D :-D :-D

Allan, I sometimes refer to OH as my 'current husband' especially if he's being cheeky!! If he ever called me 'the wife', like some 'object' I think there would be a divorce. I have heard him refer to me as 'my good lady' or 'the boss' which I don't mind. :-)

We have been together nearly four (broken mirrors!), I am single and so is he, in fact I have no next of kin.

He is my partner and I am not, as I have corrected him for telling people, his ladyfriend.

ZZzzz

Sorry I`m afraid I quite like the words "Love Child" for a child born out of wedlock. The alternative terminology for a child born out of wedlock sounds so profoundly damning. `twas probably coined by the church you find it used a lot in church records. :-0

ZZzzz Report 4 Aug 2014 21:46

This is one I don't like. Love child, used to indicate that a child is born outside wedlock, so does that mean children born inside wedlock are not loved???!

I address my wife as "my little treasure"...

The reason being, because my friends used to ask, "Where on earth did you dig her up from".
