Rita - as its against the site's T&C conditions to post personal contact details on an open board, could your remove your email address please? Anyone who knows anything about your parents can contact you via the messaging system.

If you're after photos etc, you could try looking for your parents names on other people's trees - top right under Search. If they are entered, send the tree owner a message using the Find out more button.

Would there be a local paper in the area where they were born or lived at the time of their marriage? You could write a letter asking if anyone still living locally could get in contact.

Scottish birth, marriages & deaths will be on Scotlandspeople, a pay to view site

Duplicate post on
http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards/board/genealogy_chat/thread/1366056

And also added to any Mclaren, Whiteford or Swan threads that Rita has been able to find.

Reply added the unrelated threads and sent by PM as follows

Rita - please see the reply on General Chat.

As you are a new member, you may not realise that its best to only have one thread per family/request. That's because helpers tend to look at all the boards but may come across one thread while a different helper is trying to assist on another. That ends up as a duplication of effort.

Its also best not to tag a request onto a completely unrelated one started by someone else
Don't worry, you'll soon get the hang of it. :-)
