It would often normal too for the father not to annotated as deceased even though he was.Depends how the question was asked by the priest or registrars |

Can't always rely on what it says anyway. Took me quite a while to find gt. grandmother's birth, got her marriage certificate, gave fathers name on it. When I found her birth, she was born in workhouse, mother went in with 3 children & came out with 4.Got her birth cert. on it said illegitimate. Found her supposed father died 3 years earlier. Did'nt say deceased on marriage cert. |
