I am Bionic Nanna as I now have knee replacements :-D :-D. Before just plain Nanna I won't be called Grandma or Grannie as I greatly dislike it :-D :-D :-D :-D

I was nanny when the grand kids were small, nan now ,,,oh has always been granddad.

I am Nanny to the younger children & Nan to the older ones. I daresay the young ones will end up calling me Nan too. Hubby is Granddad Snowy on account of his white hair. Other Granddad is Granddad Tree because he was always chopping up trees when they were younger. Other Nanny is Nanny tree.


I called my Grandparents Granny & Granddad but my step-nan was just Nan

When I was young I called both my maternal and paternal grandparents Nanny and Grandad to their face and Nanny and Grandad + their surname when speaking about them to other people. OH did the same so perhaps it is a south of England thing.

Our grandchildren all call us Nanny (or Nan) and Grandad and call their other grandmothers grandma - they don’t have another grandfather.

When she was about 10 one of my grandchildren, who had always called me Nanny, suddenly called me Grandma and immediately apologised. I said I was happy to be called that if that was what she wanted and it didn’t matter at all. Her reply was “It does matter. Grandmas are old but Nannys are young”. Sorry if I have just insulted all you grandmas out there ;-)

I'm also Granny, which as they've grown older has now been shortened to Gran!

And I've managed to keep the title Granny with my two Great Grandchildren, as the two Grandmothers chose to be Nan and Nanny :-D

I had wanted to be called Mam, as is often the way in South Wales (short for Mamgu) but daughter thought it would be too confusing as she was Mammy. :-D
So Gran it was!

My eldest, children and I went to my youngest's yesterday.
Eldest grand daughter usually calls her mum by her name.
I asked if my grandchildren knew my 'proper' name.

I very often used to have to call my mother by her first name. She had developed the art of becoming stone deaf to "Mum"! :-D

My OH is known as Grandad to the oldest two but little one (3)for some strange reason only he knows has always called him Grandad Boy :-D :-D :-D

We used to call our grandmother gram, now I'm a grandmother and great grand mother I'm called nannan :-D

All our grandchildren call us nan and grandad except our 4 year old twin grandaughters who call me nannynoo and oh grampy. Dont know why but we like it. <3

Wife went to collect 4 year old grandson from nursery. One of the carers called over to him, Edward, your Grandma's here.

He shot over to he arms folded and told her in no uncertain terms, That's NOT my Grandma, That's my Nana!

2-year old niece could only say "Ganky" so grandfather became "Gankymsn"

My Grandparents on my mothers side were grandad and Yvonne as Yvonne felt she was too young to be a grandmother. My grandmother on my dads side was nanny and later nan.

My 19 month old niece calls my parents granny and granad.
