Yes, it should be.

To set the cat amongst the pigeons, Freebmd actually gives an additional surname. Has this already been explored or is it a coincidence?

Births Dec 1937 (>99%)
Kent Irene Mason 7a 819a
Mason Irene Mason 7a 819a
Wilson Irene Mason 7a 819

It would probably be best to order one of the 819a

Simon

Simon Report 28 Aug 2019 22:08

quick question is 7a 819a and 7a 819 the same birth certificate?

Les had mentioned Peters death however that was Lydias brother not son. Les was quiet clear he had a half brother Lydia being the Mother.

Lydia seemed to be good at giving kids away

Simon

Simon Report 28 Aug 2019 21:26

All details of Lydia are correct I have traced her parents and grandparents

Daughter born in 1936 to Lydia was Actualy Daughter to James my paternal Grandfather Lydia gave her over to him and his spouse. Lydia was married to Kent at the Time

I think my search for Philip and Irene is coming to a close sadly cant think of where else to source information.

Thank you all so much for your help brilliant group

:-) :-) :-)

If that's the case, Lydia is listed with parents and an Albert Edward Mason on the eroll for 1930 in Stirling high street Grimsby

There doesn't appear to be a birth for a Philip with mother's maiden name of Mason in a likely place or with any of the known surnames.

Island

Island Report 28 Aug 2019 09:18

This is certainly a conundrum Simon :-) It looks to me that your mother may have lived with her father (?) and wife or at least was with them for the civil registration in 1939. Similarly, could Irene have been taken in by her own father? Otherwise, I think she may have been adopted out.
It is interesting that all three girls are on the birth reg as Mason and Kent and a third name for the 1936 child. I hope that makes sense. The mother must have made many trips to the register office.

edit I don't want to post your mothers name for your own privacy.

OP in this context means opening poster - the person who started the thread.
When someone starts a thread ((asks the initial question etc) that is the opening post.

Rambling realised that the daughter born in 1936 was your mother. She didn’t give details of the births in case they were still living. This was to to protect both your & their privacy.

Irene just seems to vanish Les Morris son of Arthur Morris wasn't aware of irene at all she would have been 9 when Lydia re married in 1942.

Les informed me in 2012 that Lydia also had a son called Philip cant find anything on him what so ever

Not been able to contact Les again he may have passed on now

Not good at this what does realised OP 's mean

for ref

Marriages Mar 1931 (>99%)

Kent Ernest W Mason Grimsby 7a 1013
Mason Lydia Kent Grimsby 7a 1013

There are kent/Mason children bn Grimsby 1932 ( died same year sadly) 1936 and Irene in 1937.

edited as realised OP 's mother was the daughter born 1936.
