	When we had fragmented kingdoms. Pity so few look at history. We watch quizzes and the number of people who know nothing of history is ridiculous :-(

	Yes it's fascinating when you start looking and of course for many, many years court language was French :-0

	It does have some Germanic elements to it. A form of which was the language of the whole of Great Britain at one time. Welsh & Cornish most closely connected to each other and then Scottish and Irish, but all of a Celtic root. The Gallic People were Celts too In fact Cornwall was called West Wales at one time.

	The nichta part sounds more Germanic (Nicht - Night) Welsh is back to front with the descriptive word second Nos Da (Night Good) Bore Da (Morning Good)
