Josh Navidi is set to miss the bulk of the Six Nations with a hamstring problem that will keep him out for a month.

WALES' NEW COACHING TEAM

There are far more people involved in the running of the WRU than just who you get to see pitch-side. And that is probably the same for the management of all the other teams involved in the Six Nations Championship.


THERE ARE ACTUALLY 26 MEMBERS OF MANAGEMENT STAFF INVOLVED.....
….. including a Mental Skills Coach, a Performance Analyst, a National Squad PA, various Physiotherapists, and even a "Baggage Master/ Technical and Equipment Support Person".


BUT HERE ARE 7 OF THE TOP MEN! :-D


1. NEW HEAD COACH ~ WAYNE PIVAC

Another Kiwi, 58 year old Wayne has taken over the Wales reins from WARREN GATLAND, and therefore has some very big coaching boots to fill!
Wayne is a former "SWORN OFFICER" in the New Zealand Police.
He has spent the last 5 years as the top man with the Welsh professional club SCARLETS.


2. ATTACK COACH ~ STEPHEN JONES

On the coaching staff of The Scarlets, Wayne Pivac decided to take 42 year old Steve with him to join the Wales management team.
A former Wales Captain, an OUTSTANDING Fly-Half (10) and kicker for Wales and various clubs, including 6 years playing for The Scarlets.

STEVE REMAINS WALES' MOST CAPPED BACK...
with 104 Wales Caps and 6 British & Irish Lions Caps under his belt.


3. FORWARDS COACH ~ JONATHAN HUMPHREYS

A former Wales Hooker, 50 year old Jonathan has coached The Ospreys and Glasgow Warriors at Club Level, and at International Level a Defence Coach for SCOTLAND.


4. DEFENCE COACH ~ BYRON HAYWARD

Replacing the out-going SHAUN EDWARDS is Byron Hayward, aged 50.
A former Wales International Player (Fly-Half / Back) Byron also did BOXING as a sideline;-)
Shaun Edwards has joined the FRANCE Backs staff!


5. SKILLS COACH ~ NEIL JENKINS

48 year old Neil won 87 Caps for Wales and 4 British & Irish Lions Caps in his International playing career.
Neil can be seen supporting the Wales Kickers (like Leigh Halfpenny) on the pitch when they are about to add three points to the Wales Scoreboard!:-D


6. TEAM MANAGER ~ MARTYN WILLIAMS

Nicknamed "GOLDEN NUGGET" :-D 44 year old Martyn Williams was a flanker for Wales, Lions and Cardiff Blues.
He amassed 100 Wales Caps and 4 British & Irish Lions Caps.


7. TECHNICAL ADVISER ~ SAM WARBURTON

At the age of just 22 Sam was the 2nd youngest Wales Captain after the legendary Gareth Edwards.
In 2018, at only 30 years of age, Sam was forced to retire from playing rugby due to injury. :-(

SAM HOLDS THE RECORD FOR MOST CAPS AS A WALES CAPTAIN (49)

SAM CAPTAINED THE BRITISH & IRISH LIONS IN 2013 and 2017.

INTERNATIONAL CAPS: Sam amassed 5 Wales Under 19s Caps, 4 Wales Under 20s Caps, 74 Wales Seniors Caps and 5 British & Irish Lions Caps.


WELL WALES HAS QUITE A MANAGEMENT TEAM!
