Thankyou so much for your replies.
Considering what I was like I am surprised I made a recovery!!
Once I could get out of the bed & into a chair I was much happier & all the new physio exercises only lasted one day each, I only had the zimmer for 1 day, was climbing the stairs the following day, only did that at the hospital the once, they moved me to 2 sticks for just 1 day & I use just one stick now though I can walk across the room unaided but try try not to!!
I just forget to pick up the stick & don't realise until I want to go back to my chair.

Good to see you back Joan.
You have done really well with your mobility, long may it continue

I find my walking stick a big help when I am outside, have an old fashioned, (with a hook at the holding end) very useful when something is slightly out of reach, (as long as I have got something else to hold on to).

Plus, I can shake it at people who annoy me.

Take it easy and take care of yourself.

Thankyou all for your replies, so pleased to be back chatting to you all.
i am feeling much happier being back at home, hubby bought me a new reclining chair,an electric one that matches our suite exactly, much easier to use than the identical manual one, lol.

I definately observed some things whilst in the hospital ! some good but some not so good!!
Had a man enter my room one day ranting & shaking his walking stick towards me! Rather scary.

Joan.

Welocme back, Joan.

So glad to see you back and recovering so quickly.

My husband calls my cane the "weapon" ;-)

It can come in very useful for waving at people or tripping them up, or literally being a weapon!

Never annoy a woman with a cane :-D

Nice to see you again, Joan,

interesting to see a walking stick defined as a weapon,

I totally dislike it when my .22 target rifle is described as a "weapon"

it isn't, it is a tool, designed to hit a specified target, centrally....
