At conception each parent gives 50% -but which 50%

your daughter's 50% to her daughter could be made up of 60% of your DNA but only 40% of J's

DNA is variable at every conception, your daughter very likely gave her more of your DNA than her father's

the X you passed to your daughter is passed unchanged to her daughter - that's how they can track you back over centuries on your female line'

It was Richard lll's maternal line that they chased up to find relatives.

Can I pick your brains please Pat.

My Granddaughter 1 shares 1910 cm with me across 20 segments but 1,559 cM across 26 segments with her Granddad.

Is that because she has more of my DNA by chance or is it because we are both female?
