I think it was about 1959 when I got that for Christmas Pat along with Black Beauty :-D :-D

My love of reading started there :-D :-D

never read Black Beauty. Read Heidi sometime in the 1950s had it for Christmas.

Yes Belle...but you have to be a bit savvy when choosing....they are all not what they seem :-0 :-0

I looked at the Heidi books and then all the reviews...so decided against purchasing. I had loads of Enid Blyton...my parents must have chucked them out once I got older or maybe passed them on :-)

Think as a child my all time fave was Christmas Carol :-D

I used to get a couple of books for Christmas every year and one of those was always an Annual. In addition, one aunt and uncle always sent me a story book .

All that Mum kept (and I still have) was The Water Babies. I haven't a clue where the others went. :-S

Little Women my all time fav book, bought my grandie girls
