That’s good. I’ve known people who have had to move elsewhere in their counties.

I'm in what was a lovely little village - it still is on the 'other side', on the outskirts of Winchester - still with a Winchester address, but further from the centre.
I can no longer walk into Winchester. Well, I could, but it's about 3 miles away.

Sounds like it is good thing that you don’t have a cat flap.

Apart from George’s gifts you seem to have been very lucky. Did they manage to keep you in Winchester or are you know Maggeinsomewhere else?

I'm still surrounded by boxes - mainly of books and genealogical stuff - and loads of folded boxes - the recycling bin is full.
I can't find my chuck key for my drill, nor can I find the mop head and pegs :-| :-|

I have moved to a 2 bedroomed mid-terrace bungalow. Only over 55's allowed to live here!
One neighbour I never hear - the other one is (I presume) deaf!!! He does like his 70's music.

I have a lovely small enclosed back garden. It took me a while to realise, that, as they are bungalows - it's not overlooked at all.
There is a 'courtesy path' but no-one needs to go through my garden. I can go through the end garden to take my bins out, but I've left them at the front. I've been through once, when my front door closed - with the key inside :-(

The cats were initially terrified. They're 15 on July 1st - and have never moved before. When they were moving stuff in, I was in the bathroom (or should I say 'wet room') with the cats - so had no say on where things went.
They slept on my bed the first night - something Betty's never done before, but have settled down now. There's no cat flap, and I swear, George now shouts 'Out' to me, when he wants the door opened.

There don't appear to be any other cats here - but plenty of dogs - and everyone seems to feed the birds.
The second day I let the cats go out, - George brought a Jay back :-| :-| :-|
It didn't survive.
Two days later, he brought a female crow in - the male crow let the neighbourhood know.
I managed to prise it out of his mouth, and she survived.
These cats are nearly 15 - HOW or even WHY has George started doing this - it's very embarrassing - surely he's too old???
Hopefully the local birds have learnt to keep away from him, now.

So glad you are ok, Maggie, hope you and your feline friends feel settled soon. I have been wondering about Ros Barclay, haven’t seen her on fb for ages. Anyone know if she’s ok? Lizxx

Hello everyone, sorry to have caused consternation,. I have moved - yes, due to bedroom tax etc. I was given 2 weeks to organise 30 years worth of 'stuff', alone, due to the pandemic. To use the dump, an appointment had to be made, and a car is only allowed one visit a week!
Was due to be reconnected on 4 Feb, but discovered the place isn't even connected to. a pole. This was due to happen on 11 Feb, but according to the liars at Open Reach, I wasn't in -except I was, so was the lovely man connection my cooker.
This non appearance led to my having to cancel an interview.
They're due back tomorrow,.
Until I. am connected, wont post anymore -have to save data.

I must. say, though, I am touched by your concern,. you lovely people
