Wet and grey here and the tree surgeons have decided on today in all the rain to come and remove about 90 ft. of privet hedge. The garden is going to be a complete mess by the time they have finished, but hey, ho, OH wanted it removed so he'll have to put up with the mess. The garden is getting a bit too much for him and removing some of the hedges will help.

Not here, but it's taking a long time for footpath to dry. It's very clear though as I can see for miles out the back.

Yes Belle, 90 ft is less than half of the hedge we've got. The privet went between us and next door at the back and then across the bottom of our garden. There is also a beech hedge all the way up from the bottom of the back garden next to the pavement outside and then round the front and back up to the front door between us and next door. There's probably another 100 ft or more.

Over the years it had got to about 10 ft. high but we have had it slowly lowered over the last 5 years or so and it's now about 5 - 6 ft high. The whole thing is getting too much for hubby so the privet has gone (they're grinding the stumps at the moment and the garden is a complete mess!)

The house is ex-council and they always have large gardens round here.
