Thanks LaGooner, had not heard a thing.
I used to love filling out the paper ones
Although on line should make easier to read for future generations

Ron2 Report 2 Mar 2021 21:40

Your choice as to how to complete the census. You should be getting a leaflet by post which tells you wots wot, a special code is shown to use by those who do a digital response

We got our letter this morning too.
I seem to remember last time I filled it in online then printed it out to keep a copy with my FH stuff.

Thanks, will look forward to getting the bumpf,
no doubt for this household, it will be down to me to fill in as per usual. :-D

Andysmum

Andysmum Report 2 Mar 2021 22:00

I read somewhere that they are expecting about 25% of households to be unable or unwilling to complete it online. 6 million paper ones have been prepared.

SylviaInCanada Report 2 Mar 2021 22:21

I hope that they are providing for those people who do not have a computer!!

Otherwise the 2021 census will miss out a very large number of people, making the census with very incomplete results for future generations, or current use by governments etc.

grannyfranny

grannyfranny Report 2 Mar 2021 23:33

There is a letter with a 'household code' to use online. There is also a leaflet which has lots of different ways to get in touch with them, by phone and so on. Nowhere does it say that a paper version is available, though I'm sure they will be. Apparently there are 'local support centres' who can help.

Kense Report 3 Mar 2021 07:36

The letter we have had says you can request a paper form at https://www.census.gov.uk or phone 0800 141 2021.

Is the government doing anything for those people who do not speak English?

I've just realised that we're having a census in May, and I should be asking these questions about our census as well!

grannyfranny

grannyfranny Report 3 Mar 2021 19:22

By reading old newspapers!!
