I have found reading about sorting out the tool etc highly amusing and am not looking forward to it if life turns out that way.

But I have had to go through my shoe ‘collection’. Due to a problem with one of my feet I have had to go through all my shoes. Having found one comfortable pair I discovered it was split and falling apart after one wear. Found a comfortable pair to wear to the hospital but found the sole had split, hurriedly found another pair but found I was leaving a trail of disintegrating heel all round the hospital.
Then thought my walking shoes would be comfy, they,ve split. So I’ve thrown out about 5 pairs of comfy shoes and donated a pair I’ve never worn.

Bought a pair on line, they didn’t fit. Bought another pair from a well known shoe shop, they were ok for a couple of days but now have massive blisters on both heels.

Fingers crossed that the next shoe delivery fits.

Ann your tale made me laugh too.
We are leaving this house on 31 may.Hiring a Luton Van on Fri 28th may so have the whole weekend to empty the house.
New sofas and fridge freezer being delivered direct so that helps.
We have managed to sell quite a lot of things which has amazed me and the money my daughter and I will share as it was both our things we sold.

Just back from the hospital.Had my jags so a bit sore but was told, cannot have anymore injections because it will tear my tendons and I will be permanently disabled and on crutches!

These steroid jags also relieved my sinus problems so now without I shall be on s box of tissues s day...ufn
Because of my Asthma,I can't take painkillers or anti inflammatory s so now I'm quite upset re my future.
He referred me to physio so shall wait and see what they say.

Freezing here and just had another hail/heavy sleety rain shower. So heating on and a cuppa needed to warm up.

That’s sad Dermot. It seems he started the Apostrophe Protection Society in 2001 hoping to find six people who felt like he did. Within the first month he had over 500 people who felt that way.

Sitting in my local park right now. Having just been to the shop I felt like taking the slow route home. It is 16 degrees and absolutely glorious sitting here. Once I’ve finally decided to drop the shopping home I think I’ll head back over to the park and maybe onto the canal. With the park 20m from my front door it really is on my doorstep.

JoyLouise Report 11 May 2021 12:23

It's a grand day here too. :-D

Dermot, poor John! It all went belly-up for him when the powers-that-be could not get their heads around apostrophes or thought that the public couldn't use them properly, so they decided to abolish them on street names. Shame on them! :-(

**Ann** Report 11 May 2021 12:40

Morning everyone :-D <3

Not bad weather here as yet..a few showers. Am waiting for Samsung engineer to call as my washing machine is a bit poorly
:-0 :-0

Have a good day everyone

Florence61 Report 11 May 2021 12:53

Good afternoon all
Well after a warm day yesterday, the clouds came and so has the rain. I put out a line of towels first thing but then about an hour later, sky clouded over and im glad i took them in as it poured hard!!So weather here back to normal.

Car went for its service yesterday and they rang at 3.30. Not quite the news i wanted. A sill needs to be welded and repaired otherwise will fail MOT next month.A bush also needs replacing. So more expense along with everything else but i need the car and simply cannot afford to buy another one this year.
If it will last me one more year, then i will have to save my pennies by living on beans on

My lounge is now beginning to look very bare but tidier and when car comes back thursday, another load of boxes will go.

Joan its shortcrust pastry not puff so i may make an apple pie or something similar and of course ill have to eat up the few cornettos and magnums that are lurking still in the freezer!

Well Id better crack on doing change of addresses, the list is never ending but at least many i can do by email or text, its just so time consuming.

Have a good day all.
Tawny, enjoy your time in the park, sounds lovely.

Ann, hope you get your washing machine sorted

Samsung arrived and as I thought Twas the will have to put the part on order! Well I said I hope I won’t be put back in the queue for another 2 weeks waiting for it to be fitted :-0 :-0 :-0

Trying to brighten up here after two horrendous thunderstorms last night :-0 :-0

Have a lovely day everyone :-D <3

Florence61 Report 12 May 2021 22:08

Glad you know what the problem was Ann and yes heres hoping it will come soon. Simply cant do very long without a machine. i could manage for a week but it would soon pile up!

Grey rainy day and i felt it cold too. Getting the car back tomorrow but at a cost!
Anyway have a load of boxes waiting to go so that will clear a space.

Tired tonight so off to bed a bit earlier than normal. Take care peeps

AnninGlos Report 13 May 2021 07:59

Good morning all, already 9 degrees here so not cold but grey and looking like yet more rain. so it will be gardening in the dry times if at all.
This morning the men are returning to change the misted glass in the small opening conservatory window they did the door that was misted on Tuesday then cracked the new glass for the window. I am also expecting my car to be brought back, with standing undriven for so long through lockdown and then when T was in hospital the battery was not good. Then I dodn't feel like driving it when T died and the battery was flat when I tried. so they took it in to check it over and fit a new battery so that is something I will have to pay for this morning.

Hope yours comes back Ok Florence. Sounds as if you are progressing well with the move now.

Amokavid Report 13 May 2021 19:05

Hi everyone from a very dull damp day,no rain today though, I found it rather close!

We did the weekly Morrisons shop this morning, was in the store before 8-30 & so were several others so not as quiet as it usually is.

Called into ADSA for some fruit as hubby likes his from there, & on going in following a couple I had a bit of a confrontation with the wifey who was sanitising herself & her trolley at the door, she stared at me long enough as I went past the sanitising stuff, so before I let her get a word in (her glare was enough!) I informed her that I had already sanitised my hands using my own stuff, pointing out to her that the free standing spray bottles of the sanitising stuff ASDA puts out were FILTHY!!

Such mucky sprayers are far from safe to use in my opinion!
I don't usually react like that (in public) for any reason but she really annoyed me.

I made lovely Golden Syrup cake last night, first time I have made it, it was LOVELY, absolutely delicious.
I only had a small 1lb Loaf tin so had to use a square tin which wasn't right re depth of cake but it was fine, I bought a 2lb Loaf tin when out shopping todaay so the cake should be even better next time.

Florence61 Report 13 May 2021 22:20

Aw Joan, there are some horrible people about.I had a run in at the hospital last week with a jobsworth wanting me to explain why I wouldn't wear a mask. She said be if I refused to wear one,I wouldn't get my scan!!!I was so upset but the radiologist called me through and said don't worry about her,we will do your scan without a mask.
I have an excemption card too....nasty woman.

Why do some people judge others so we quickly?
Anyway your cake sounds delicious.
I got my car back but....oh dear I needed a bush and welding done as there is a hole on a sill! The bill today including the service was £185.The welding and not in the 8th June probably £300!!! But I can't afford to buy another this year what with moving costs etc.

Poor you are great when they work and such a pain when something goes wrong.

Really tired tonight after transporting s dozen boxes and emptying today.
So off to bed now.

Sleep well everyone

I am sure that you could think of something Dermot!

Amokavid Report 14 May 2021 18:30

Florence, you seem to be getting on really well with your house move, you will sonn have everything sorted & in place & be able to sit back & take things a bit easier, no more worries about having to move again!

I had a similar experience re no mask when I went for an Echogram last August.
The nurse said that the person doing it would not do it if I didn't wear a mask! I told her that I wouldn't have it done then & got up to leave, she then went back to the technician who contacted my doctor to inform him I was not going to have the procedure done, the doctor backed me up about the mask & the procedure went ahead, however it was not a pleasant experience!!

Another overcast day, & chilly, no sign of any good weather on the horizon either.
Was in the garden for a short while to measure up a part of the garden where I am hoping to place a small potting shed.
Just wanting a small building so thinking of asking a local Joiner to make one for me to my own design, as I cannot find anything that I really like.
Any pre made ones that I have seen & liked are on the big side & way over my budget! lol.

Sitting in my living room watching football and drinking champagne. Dreich outside today so it seemed like a plan.

I’m pleased things are going well with your move Florence.

Amokavid Report 16 May 2021 18:59

Been a lovely sunny day here today, so I managed a couple of simple jobs in the garden in between making the Sunday dinner.
Did some spot weed killing, lopped a few thin/dead branches & lit a small bonfire.
had a good sweep up of some leaves that had blown around & a lot of really small twigs that though useful to the birds they make the garden gravel look a right mess.

Hoping tomorrow will be nice so as to do a bit more tidying up, might even get some painting done, the garden seats & the like. Always plenty to do in a garden!
Hope everyone has had as nice day as I have.

I was going to make some Flapjacks this evening but I am short on the Rolled Oats so they will have to wait until I get some more!

Florence61 Report 16 May 2021 23:33

A late evening hello folks.
Was very grey and almost black clouds loomed all day so much so that I thought the heavens would open and pour...but actually it didnt. Very strange too as so quiet with no wind. Never like it, when its so still as usually a storm brewing.
Well we had a carry on today with the water. Was just getting ready to load up and over to new house when I noticed a huge puddle outside front door and a terrible smell!
Went round the back to where the bathroom pipe is and oh my(hold nose!) there was unmentionable mess pouring out the drain. So tel the water company and about 2 hours later they arrived. They put rods down the main manhole and flushed it out as there indeed was a great blockage of some sort.

I had to put the washing machine on a 60 degree wash and plenty of washing soda. Thankfully the smell has gone and all back to normal.
Just kept us back as was going to make 2 trips today but only did one.

Joan you did well in your garden today.I bet you enjoyed being outside.

Champagne Tawny, love a glass of bubbly. Nearly time for the Pimms season!

Well better get to bed soon as lots of tidying up here to do tomorrow.

Nite nite all

Oh Florence, the drain problem must have been awful, it's the one thing my hubby hates dealing with, we have a septic tank & have to keep an eye on anything going wrong, though hubby hated dealing with any problems with it he had to sort it but that's something he cannot manage to do now, he's glad about that, but not having to pay for someone else to do it! LOL.

Another lovely day here, been out this morning & painted 2 of the 4 garden seats, made a start on a 3rd but it's quite an old one & will need more then 1 coat, perhaps 3, managed to get some paint on part of it but my back was aching so had to leave off, hoping to do some more tomorrow!

Simple tea today, a fry up, Chips & Fried Eggs & something else.

Hope everyone is well, have a nice day.
