There is Quordle.com as well. 4 puzzles to do at once.

Ooh Thank you ArgyllGran.
I'll take a look.

If once a day isn't enough, there's this -

https://hellowordl.net/

As often as you like, and you can alter the length of the words for more of a challenge - and free.
(Note that it assumes US spelling of words such as "color", "favor", "rigor" etc.)

Or this if you're happy with five-letter words:

No doubt there are others!

I don't know whether to feel pleased or disappointed :-S

My girls, grandson and I like comparing how we get on with our daily challenge.

Today I got 4 correct letters in the right place in my first word, so no challenge to get it in two tries :-(

I really miss the working out of letters.

If you're wondering whether Wordle will suddenly cost money to play, here's what The New York Times has said:
"At the time it moves to The New York Times, Wordle will be free to play for new and existing players, and no changes will be made to its gameplay."
The wording of that statement leaves open the possibility that The New York Times could put Wordle behind its subscriber paywall or monetise the game in some other way in the future.
But, for now, Wordle will remain free to play with no changes to how you play it.

2 for me too, Maggie :-D

As long as I can reasonably keep up with the younger family members, they will hopefully think I'm not past it just yet ;-)

I, by chance, got todays in 2 - apparently 'magnificent' :-D

A family friend got yesterday's Wordle in 1.... wonder what the site's comment was for that ?

An element of luck for me this morning getting 4 correct letters in my starter word... and 2 of them being in the correct position.

Like Kath, I hope the site doesn't change too much.

There's a site called 'East of the Web' which is primarily a writing site but has a load of word games. I enjoyed using it, but since the demise of the Flash plug-in, the games no longer work.

Wordle has just been sold to the New York Times for a 7 figure sum.

Hope they don't mess about with it!

Anyone who enjoys codebreaker puzzles should be good at Wordle.

I'd heard of Wordle but not tried it until this morning. Got the word in 2.

Try these (but there are lots of online codebreaker sites) :

I think the first word is the most important. :-D

As thought, this is addictive!

2 daughters, grandson and I are all hooked and usually 'play' early in the day and they share their scores.

My score has not been 100%, but now improved since I choose my starting word to contain at least 2 vowels.

Love the comments, when the game is completed, ranging from Phew, after many attempts to Magnificent, when I guessed in 2 words.

Grandson doesn't use 'correct' letters for his next word, but chooses different ones to eliminate them.
I tend to use correct letters in the following word.

JustGinnie

JustGinnie Report 15 Jan 2022 12:12

Yes I played it because of a post on fb and the 1st one I didn't get but tried again after seeing this thread ,have got the word in 5 both times.

I hadn't heard of this game until Maggie put up this thread. Tried it last night and didn't get it but just tried this morning and got it in 4. Glad you can play this game online because I don't have a smart phone so can't use apps.

I've done it in 4 twice in a row, more luck than anything else probably. Have been doing number games on a free site recently so this made a change!
