Shirley~I,m getting the hang of it

Shirley~I,m getting the hang of it Report 10 Nov 2023 16:18

Had a full hysterectomy end 1921 ( correction 2021 ) !
Had everything removed including cervix and lymph nodes and initially all removed ok but check revealed that 70 % of it was sarcoma so chemo was recommended which i had three rounds of

Was then told unfortunately the cancer has gone up to a paraortal lymph node that wasn’t treatable cos too near to main tubes so radiation would damage

Lymph node too to deep for surgery

So have been monitored since and all been ticking along ok with little movement

But had a ct scan on 4th oct and follow uo with oncologist on 28th and it’s not what we wanted to hear

The lymph node cancer is bigger and I now have uterine cancer lumps in the both lungs

Whilst they aren’t causing any symptoms yet they will and it’s terminal

Will be looking at 2 years maximum!

To say it’s devastating is an understatement!

I know at my age I am in the twilight but to be told this is frightening tbh :-(

Thank you Gwyn

Am still plodding along and gone pragmatic again in that I have no control on what’s going on inside

What is more upsetting is how the news is affecting my close family and how they are panicking on losing me !

Wish I could take that away but it’s not in my control

So am just plodding along and going with what the oncologist suggests with any possible treatment to alleviate effects as they will occur

So sorry to read this Shirley. Stay positive, my Nan was given 6 months but lived another 12 years before she died of something else - and treatments now are a lot better than they were then.

Best Wishes
