My other great niece has done really well in her GCSEs... Equivalent to 9 A*/A and 1 B under the old grading....so pleased for her <3

Well done to your gt. niece Belle. I remember the day I got mine. The schools didn't make much of it as the results were sent out to you in small brown enelopes (I've still got it). Two friends and I spent the day at the Blue Lagoon near Seaton Carew just chilling out after all the hard work and thinking about what to do next. It was quite a warm day if I remember rightly.

It's quite cool here today although it does seem to be brightening up a bit.

Is she sister to the A level results niece?

Daughter messaged my great niece. I don't know her results, but she's happy.
We might hear more later, as she was out with a friend, at the time.

When did they start going into school for results?
Some parents on TV this morning had taken their children quite early in the day.
'Back in my day' I didn't know anyone whose parents took them to secondary school.
We all made our own way, each day either walking, by bike, or on a bus.
My friend lived out in the country and cycled one and a half miles to her nearest bus stop, where she caught a bus to a small town market square. From there it was another bus journey to a slightly larger small town, where there was a bus station and several school buses ferried dozens of girls to the actual school site.
Perhaps travel was the reason we waited at home for our brown envelope.
