Boy did it rain last night :-0. So far it has been dry in daylight hours but I can't see that lasting as it looks threatening :-(

Just had a lovely chat on the phone with my friend who first got me interested in family history.
She had advertised on Teletext about a one-name study, she was doing.
That would have been about 1996?

Gwyn, I have known two people do a one-name study and some of my ancestors were included.

The first was years ago on the Errington family - mostly North-East in my case.

The second was the Cubbon family - Isle of Man. Alas, the Cubbon family was only down the male line so it stopped short of my great-grandmother. I heard about this Study from a previous neighbour in Australia because her late husband's surname was Cashen and he was approached.

Cubbon and Keig (my ancestral lines) and Cashen were known as being Isle of Man surnames apparently.

Good luck to your friend as there must be a helluva lot of work to doing such a study.

I was going to pop along for some milk as I have none left but I have decided to open the long-life carton I keep as a spare as the weather is so horrible.

I usually leave some semi-skimmed in the freezer but I have used that!

Friend handed over a lot of her one-name study work to someone else, a few years back.
She still has lots of certificates though.... Literally thousands ! :-0 :-0

Most were bought way back, when they were much cheaper.
She bought hundreds of Wills too to get accurate information.
