Waiting for the guy to come to change my meters to Smart ones - and, wouldn’t you know it, there has been something adverse on this morning’s news about them. :-(

I am only changing because one of the meters is so high up in the corner of the garage that I need the stepladders to read it - and I ain’t getting any younger.

Any time between 8 am and 5 pm is the best guess they can give me which means I have to plan to be in all day.

Sorry Joy but I'm with Maddie - wouldn't have a smart meter to save my life, although I expect that in the fullness of time we will all have to have one but I'm hoping that is after I am long gone ;-)

Dull and dreary here and I’m off to the twirlers ;-) ;-)

Joy we have a smart meter and touch wood it’s ok. We just ignore it :-0 :-D :-D

We still have a man come to read the meter periodically. That said we can check to

see that the numbers are correct. Could you get a family member to check the

numbers when the bill comes in?
If it all works properly you shouldn’t have to that .

Dull and damp here, but for the moment, it's stopped raining.

I didn't want a smart meter either and held out as long as I could.
To be fair, it hasn't made much difference, as I still refuse to have their usage gadget in the house.
We are not wasteful and if something is switched on, it's because we need it, so overall use won't change just we now have Smart.

One plus at present is that we get half price electricity on Saturday and Sunday between 11a.m and 4 p.m until March 31st, when the hours are being changed.

There was a charge to move the elec meter, Maddie, that is why I have opted for Smart meters as well as knowing that both of my kids have Smart meters and they have had no problems.

Von, you made me laugh as I think son-in-law should ignore it like you instead of checking their usage and shaking his head. :-D :-(

Still waiting. Been up my tree as I found a whole of paperwork that I typed 15 years ago and forgot about. :-S

Gwyn, are they building new homes and converting empty homes to smart meters or is that water meters I am thinking about?

I have a Smart Meter haven't had a problem plus my water is on a meter which for a single person is better than paying an annual rate :-D :-D

We have had a compulsory water meter for many years.
I think we might have been the first area in the country for this?
