I'm taking a break from the laptop and only doing occasional visits as the screen is affecting my eyes. Eye test Wednesday.

Gloomy and cold here :-(

Yesterday was lovely and we spent a great afternoon with grandson and his girlfriend. Their new house is lovely and they are buying things they need gradually and they've even managed to panel one wall in the lounge themselves even though they've never done any DIY before. It looks great. We had a lovely lunch with them at the local pub.

The only downside to the day was that on the way there on the A1 a lorry driver in front of us somehow lost control of the back end of his lorry and all we could do was stay well back behind him while he struggled to regain control. The back end of the lorry was going from one lane to the next and it looked as if it might tip over sideways. It only took about 3 or 4 minutes for him to regain control and we could pass him but it seemed like forever and was very scary. I've never seen anything like it but my son is a driving instructor so knew exactly what was happening and had the sense to stay well back but the car in front of us overtook the lorry and I just couldn't look in case the lorry ended up on top of him.

However, all's well that ends well.

It is a really dull day weatherwise but looking on the bright side the green woodpecker came for a long visit this morning. :-D :-D
