Well there you go ,what a nice start to the day,our Sylvia back home and reports of a nice holiday to boot. Sounds as though you had a nice time Sylvia ,it's nice to be able to meet rellies when away on holiday too ,makes the break so much nicer too. Glad to see you back anyway ,cause it's Freds turn next week ,me and the boss off to the wilds of Scotland [well castle Douglass anyway lol] so it's nice to know someone is on hand to hold the fort with Brenda. The sun is trying to break through already so we may have a nice day for a change ,i would like to get the lawns done today before i go ,otherwise i will be cutting jungle when i get back and will have to strim the lawn before getting the mower out . I'm going to cheat with the car and take it to an iranian friend of mine to get it cleaned inside and out so thay we set off on holiday clean and sparkely. It costs £8 for a complete clean ,wax and polish, the insides cleaned including boot, the tyres cleaned and the inside finished off with a nice niff [if you know what i mean] .i usually give him the straight £10 though and get a few extras like a cup of coffee while we wait lol. The boss is up ,so i had better go and get her cuppa before she throws a tantrum lol [only kidding'ouch] but she ain't a lot of good till she's had at least three cups ,before she condecends to grunt if i ask her a question ,after three cups she mellows a lot . Catch you all later when iv'e done a bit of research for a fellow member of Genes.Fred.

Hi all, Brenda, it does make the time drag when you're not busy - and you didn't have much sleep again last night. Maybe you will be better after your holiday, you probably need a break. Fred, lost my yellow rose - would you believe my son decided to actually make a start on digging some of the garden and obviously started by digging up the only rose I had left. The other two had been destroyed when the fence blew down a few years back but this one survived though a bit untidy and out of shape. Oh well, can't be helped. Hope you get everything sorted in your garden before you go on holiday and have a good time if I don't get back on before you go. Syvlia, pleased to hear you enjoyed your holiday. I hope you are feeling well after your operation and that the surgeons are pleased with you - they should be you sound like a model patient. Hope everyone else is well God bless Love Kathleen

Morning all - its ages since l last came to visit. Must just tell you about the birds in garden A beautiful pair of Bullfinches arrived this morning and they both tucked into the dandilions - it was the white fluffy parts before it had fully opened, wonder if its to line a nest. The Wren is often on the patio area right outside the doors and the Blue tits have decided to come in that close as well. Mr & Mrs Robin are always there. Possibly 2 prs of Blackbirds and next door has a Thrush. The usual Rooks, Jackdaws and 2 prs each of Woodpigeons and Collared Doves - oh and the bloomin Squirrell. Madoc knows now when the Squirrell is about cause l just have to say 'he's on the fence again' and Maddy is at the door. l do let him out to scare him off sometimes but its probably not a good idea when he see's small critters in the wild, we don't want him to harm anything nor run off in the wrong drection. My daughter is in dispair withe Squirrells - she now hates them and bless her she loves all critters really. They sucked all the niger seed out of the tall plastic feeders, you could see the deep scratch marks on the tube - little watsits:o))) Madoc is as gorgeous as ever. Feed times l get him to sit and he watches my finger moveing about, then when it points at the bowl he knows the food is his:o)))) quite useful if l want him to stop and watch and leave. When we are out walking and we want his attention, we just say 'watch maddie', he looks up at you which diverts his attention from something for a split second, then we treat him:o)) other days he completly ignores all this of course:o))) Fat Cat is so full of life, always ready for a game or attack session - if you have something dangling beware!!! lol Its abit dull here today, rained in the night which was brill for the garden - should be perfect for digging and weeding. Sylvia - sounds like youv'e had a really good break, good for you, both of you. Hope everyone is well, sorry if l have'nt picked up on all the messages. Brenda l did see you still have probs sleeping, must say thats not been a prob for me lately, but its horrible cause it does'nt get you off on the right foot in the morning does it. You must relax more in the day time. Thank you for your messages by the way:o)) Am waiting to hear now from son.Only four weeks till their baby is due, can't wait. Saw the bedroom at the weekend, they have both worked so hard. They'll make such gorgeous parents:o)) Ok thats it, bye for now:o)0 jude sarf wales xx

Good morning Jude, Brenda, Dorothy, Fred, Sylvia and anyone else looking in. Jude, pleased to hear all is well with the baby, bet you can't wait till he/she arrives and you can have a cuddle. Hope the birth is nice and easy, reckon they have had their share of worries. Brenda, hope your holiday will help you relax and maybe you'll be able to sleep better when you come back. Fred hope you are enjoying your holiday. Sylvia, hope you are ok and not overdoing things. Dorothy, pleased your weather is improving. Don't care for all that snow, it seems to have gone on for such a long time. Can't stop, am going away for a few days on Thursday - got millions to do and totally disinclined to do any of it !!! God bless Love Kathleen

hello hope that kathleen enjoys her days away and jude waiting for the new baby is so exciting for you hope all goes well. also jude the lady who has offered to look after the two boy's simon and sasha while I am in england along with my son and family came down to meet them the other day, well what a pair of traitors they were all over her she is quite the cat lover usually they take a while to get along with someone. but i was pleased she will pop in twice a day I felt I needed the extra attention for them being away for a month, and I did not want to put them in the cattery. they are too spoiled for that. we are having some strange weather yesterday at 4pm we had a horrific rain storm tree's down the power off in some area's roofs off houses, my power was ok and then this morning it is great again nice and warm and sunny, well I am off to the shops and the library so bye for now dorothy

Hi all, Lovely to read all your messages. Yes, I am improving with the hour. My doctor phoned me yesterday and Johan had to tell her I was out shopping with my scootmobile. You can't keep me indoors if the weather is good. I actually got my cross stitch work out again and started to prepare some small guest towels for my daughter. She has asked me to cross stitch some for her. I have found a pattern with an alphabet with cats and as she loves cats this will make her happy. It is all the preparation work which takes the time. I need to have a good light and glasses as the work is so fine. We have had no rain since 22nd March - really dry everywhere and the farmers are having to use gallons of water to water their crops now. I got my table out on to the balcony today and now have to find the time, with Johan to go and buy some plants for the tubs etc. I was really stuck for a present for a friend and hoped to find something in Germany but that didn' t materialise, so out of desperation tried the internet and lo and behold I have found something and it will be arriving tomorrow. What would I do without my computer? Sylvia xxx

Sorry I haven't managed to get on before now, well I did enjoy the show ,but we had last minute bargain tickets that only cost £10.00,so we where up in the gods,it was like rock climbing come out ,climbing up the 'stairs'hanging on to the hand rail etc and the seats are not made for people with long legs or even short legs really or biggish bottoms!!!.Mosy of the packing is done ready for an early start tomorrow.,having my nails done in an hour so had to make sur it was all done before getting those done glad your 'e out and about again Sylvia,we must sort our patio and the chairs and table out when we come home. Hope Fred had a nice holiday and everyone else is well and happy. Please try and leave a message each day do we don't fall off the end Take care Brenda.,

Hallo all, Fred where are you? I didn't post yesterday, but neither did you. Brenda was the only one. Today Johan and I went to the Garden Centre and bought some plants for our window boxes and troughs, but had no time to put the plants in because I had to go to the hospital. I had a lung scan which took 3/4 hour and was very claustrophobic. One nurse, female, tried to prick my arm and failed, so a male nurse tried, also failed, so they called in a colleague so I said 'third time lucky' and mentioned the other two were hopeless. Well, the female nurse was so cross that I dare say they were hopeless, but it was true, or not? After that I had several tests to do with lungs so was quite late home. Tomorrow morning I will go to the market but in the afternoon hope to do the plants. Next Monday is our Queen's birthday and a National Holiday. Beatrix will be touring round with other members of her family and taking part in some of the events which take place every year. Things like sack races, children playing musical instruments. Children are allowed to have a stall and sell their old toys on the Queen's birthday. Actually it is not Beatrix's birthday but her mothers. Beatrix's birthday is in January and a bit cold for outdoor activities. Everything is already looking gay here with the Dutch flags and in the shops cakes with orange icing etc.etc. It looks as if we are in for some good weather for a change on her birthday. See you tomorrow. Sylvia xxx

syljo Report 27 Apr 2007 20:13

Hi all, Yes Dorothy it is you and I at the moment as the rest of the gang seem to have temporary abandoned us. My household help went by coach today to Spain, but she would have done better to have stayed here weatherwise. You see in northern France and Spain it is raining and also colder. We have had no rain since 22nd March and none forecast for a couple of weeks either. Today I filled my window boxes and plant tubs on the balcony so we look a little friendlier. Don't think I will venture too far on the Queen's birthday as with a scootmobile it is difficult to get round in the crowds. Yes, we have a new princess. Our Willem Alexander and Maxima have now three daughters, all blonde. It looks as if we are in for a queen in the future again. The names of the princesses are Amalia, Alexia and Ariane. Well see you tomorrow and have a peaceful evening. Sylvia xxx

Hiya Sylvia [waves] and everyone else,i didn't get back till late last night ,so it was a case of bring the stuffin, have a cuppa then off to bed lol. We did have sa good time though and enjoyed a few gentle walks on the beaches [two of them]and the site was very clean ,well run ,and very quiet, which is unusual for a site of about five acres. The beaches were mostly made up of sea shells with very little sand until the tide was right out ,then it was sand flats out half a mile to the sea at low tide. This is a place to watch the tide whilst you are on the rocks ,or be ready to wade half a mile to shore when the tide creeps round behind you. As mentioned the shoreline is mostly shells ankle deep in places, scallops ,oyster ,mussel ,clams ,whelk, winkles ,and tons of other stuff . This would be a lovely place to collect food off the pools in the old days when the beaches wern't polluted as they are now. A cofter would only need to keep chickens for the eggs ,grow his own veggies ,and other than that could live off the seafood and fish which would have been abundant.along with a couple of sheep and goatsfor meat and milk. I got home to find the grass coming out of the gate to meet me and weed everywhere lol,i need a couple of weeks now to get back to normal.lol. Off into the garden now to put in the onion grass i got off a fella on the way home,a lovely herb that has long broad leaves that taste like mild garlic ,but is easier to grow hee hee. See you later peeps .Fred.
