Good morning all. Not around yesturday, as me and Hubby had the day out, as it was the only day of his weeks holiday we are able to do so. Due to baby being induced as I speak. Just before leaving yesturday the Lancashire Evening Post rang me. I am sure you will all be seeing something in the newspaper. Will be around all day today. An excited Jenny. xx

Nanna Gaynor (June nr Preston's Daughter) Report 26 Jul 2006 21:58

Hi All Well, Auntie Marion has just handed 'Gaynor Bear' over to myself, Uncle John, Samantha and Gaynor's beloved 'Beau Bear' at St Catherine's Hospice in Lostock Hall, near Bamber Bridge, Preston. A very nice man called John Nickson (Head of Appeals) let Gaynor and Beau ride in his TVR sports car! Some photo's were taken which we will add to the official 'G' Bear Website and also a write up was in the Lancashire Evening Post tonight. Some digi pics will be emailed to them, the Citizen and the Chorley Guardian also. We were so pleased to collect 'Gaynor Bear' tonight, Mum had been looking forward so much to seeing her, it's such a shame that she missed her by just 3½ weeks. I'm sure she must have somewhere close by watching and smiling. 'Gaynor and Beau' are as we speak sitting on June's settee in her living room having some 'quiet time' together. Well I'll keep you posted.... xxx I love you Mum xxx Gaynor (June nr Preston's daughter) xxxx

Good evening all. It's been rather a hectic day. Have done the handover of GB to Gaynor and family tonight at St Catherines Hospice. We were warmly welcomed by John who loaned us his sports car for some pictures. I have put some photos on the site so take a peek. We will miss GB and wish her well on her journey. Hugs and kisses to GB and Beau bear.x.x. Marion and family.

Have had to keep phone line free all day, waiting for Son to call. See my latest thread. So excited. Will go and look at pic's now, and promise to get back to you tomorrow. Jenny, (getting excited now. Hopefully a Granddaughter tomorrow) XXXXX

Marion Report 27 Jul 2006 11:06

READY, TEDDY GO FOR CANCER CHARITY EFFORT A large pink charity teddy bear trekking across Britain is making a stop at St Catherine's Hospice in Lostock Hall. The Gaynor Bear Relay has been travelling up and down the country since setting off in Tynemouth in April 2005. The Gaynor Bear was named after Gaynor Fear, a member of genealogy website Genes Reunited who died of breast cancer last year. The bear has raised almost £4,000 for The Pink Fund, an official Cancer Research UK charity committee started by Gaynor Fear and friends. Gaynor Bear has been so popular its even picked up a boyfriend, Bo Bear, along the way. The bear was passed on to a 'host' in Lancashire a few weeks ago and is being handed over to the next host on Wednesday evening at St Catherine's Hospice. Gaynor Clewlow, co-ordinator for the area and the next 'host' of Gaynor Bear, said: 'My mum was the coordinator of the relay for this area but unfortunately she died three weeks ago before she could see the bear.' Hope this comes thru. Marion.x.

Thank you Diane, Lee and Harry for your Cheque for Cancer Research UK. You all did well in the Relay. Not sure if Diana has moved yet, so will have to get in touch with her for new address and ask her to confirm she has received it as it is not made out to anyone. Gaynor, thank you for your lovely photographs, you are one brave Lady. I will try and get the Lancashire Evening Post write up on the main site. Jenny xx

Hi All, especially GB, hope you are having a lovely time with Beau and not getting up to anything you shouldn't !!!! Just nudging this so that it doesn't disappear and get forgotten. Gloria :-))))

Mommylonglegs Report 31 Jul 2006 18:17

Thanks for nudging. I get so worried when I do. I have had hardly any feedback about a possible 'wedding' Feel as if I am flogging a 'dead horse' now. OK Jilly is poorly, which cannot be helped, but even before Jilly was given her bad news there were no plans made at all for GB in Scotland as far as I am aware of. I look forward to collecting GB and Beau from Gaynor whenever it is convenient to her. Then I will have to sort out who is still willing to take part in the Scotland area. I am not yet sure when she will be in the Scotland area. Jenny

Hi Jenny, not all that long ago there was a post from a Scottish member re the relay. I remember there was quite a bit of interest. I have tried to find it by searching but no luck just yet. Will keep looking. Regards Jeanie

Dancing Report 31 Jul 2006 19:53

Hi Jenny I am sure that there is plenty of interest in Scotland, Jilly had gathered quite a number of names. However, there was no point in making any plans until we had some idea of when GB was coming, especially with the summer holidays coming up. I understood Jill was going to send you the name list. If you have it, would you like to pass it on to me and I shall see what I can do? Otherwise we shall have to wait until Jill gets back from holiday and I shall contact her then. She is only away for a week. Please don't leave us out, we care as much as the rest of you! Regarding the wedding, I thought it was a fun idea and I did respond to your thread. Mind you, Gretna is not an easy place to get to without a car; I tried to work it out from Edinburgh, but concluded that a hire car and a sober meet might be the best option! GB's kilt is nearly ready, may need a fitting before she can appear brefore her public! Sheila

Good morning Sheila, thanks for nudging Jilly's thread, 'Calling all Scott's' I didnt know of this thread and had not received a list of names from Jilly. Jilly did post to say she would have to pull out of the relay. Are you interested in being the co-ordinator for the Scotland group? It would take a load off my mind if you could. So this is the list of names so far for the Scotland Group Dancing Sheila Polly Rag Dolly Anna Lemon Woody + sister in Stornoway Raven Marion Rosalyn Bett Boo in Dundee Lucia I now need to know roughly where all these folks are in Scotland and how to contact them. What holidays commitments they have. Who is the nearest to me so I can bring GB to them. Distance is no problem. I will have to use the train if it is to be a weekday, but car is available at weekends. As I said earlier, we can give the Relay a bit of a break during August whilst most people are on holiday. I have this wedding to sort out, but as not many members can make it to Gretna Green there will probably only be me and Ann Lazenby there. Looking forward to any views or ideas from anyone. Jenny xx

Good morning everyone. Any news on what GB is up to? Sheila I have answered your email, hope to speak today on the phone. Vivienne, will get your parcel in the post this morning. There may be a slight change to what I had planned. There is to be a 'meet' in Fort William at the end of August. Sheila and and I are going to discuss the possibly of getting GB up there first. This will just mean the 'Wedding' will be put on hold until I get GB back after her Tour of Scotland. Will let you all know as soon as possible. Jenny x

Good morning everyone. I got a pm from Gaynor Gee Baby last night. I replied asking if she has any more plans for GB. I presume she is at work all day today so do not expect to hear from her until after teatime this evening. I will keep you informed as soon as I know what the next plans for GB are. Please read my last three or four posts to see what ideas we have at present. Jenny. xx
