Afternoon wattlers, thought it was such a good idea to have carpets cleaned today until I got home after work and took one look at the curtains and nearly had a fit. How come they looked ok with furniture in the room but now look really dirty. SO down they came and into the machine then of course I had to wash the windows didn't I . Just finished putting everything back together and it looks really nice but I guess that will only last til someone sprawls over the couch and starts spreading stuff around the room again...... Maybe I can ban that room just for tonight...nope the telly is in there that wont work..aw well it was clean for a while....sigh

Hi Wattlers, Old and new, I am really glad were all back, thanks Lara. Yesterday, just as I was worrying about you all, Neville came in and said, 'get ready we're going out'. He didn't have to ask twice. We went down on to the broadwater had a nice walk with the dog and then had some yummy fish and chips. There was a strong breeze and clouds. The coolest we have been in 3 months. It was very invigorating. Tony please give Barb a big hug for me, it's terrible losing a parent. I am having troubles with my puta, it is getting very slow. I keep praying for Broadband, but I think we are the last on the list. I hope they never sell Telstra. If they do us country folk will be forgotten. Today has been very busy. Shopping this morning and the rack this afternoon. I am now trying to get the chook food ready whilst writing this. I will be back tomorrow, Happy New Wattle thread everybody. Hip Hip Hooray Love SuzyQ

Evening All Lara I know it doent make them any better players, but at least when we are losing it gives us something to look at apart from the scoreboard he he. David saw the piece you are talking about in the Sunday Herald Sun while he was at work, we dont get it ourself, but with David being Melbourne born he still likes to look at the Sun when he can, mind you he saw the article but didnt think to take the pic out of the paper, oh well I will just have to look at the new poster I got today with all the new players for this year in colour too lol. Catch you all tomorrow Cheers Sue

Laurie Report 8 Feb 2006 22:41

Good morning from Botany Bay, A lovely bright blue sky (though a little hazy on the city skyline) - the water is all shiny and sparkling and there is just a slight breeze to keep the temp pleasant. There are three giraffes heads right up and one on its way up as I type. So some ship has finished loading I'm guessing, and will be making it's way out of the Bay shortly. I am madly trying to find my living rellies on the Parks line, before I head off in 3 weeks, from today! (Yeay!) I have found one lot that I link up with back at gtgtgramps, (and they have no info because of a 2nd wife in there - not traced step kids lines). I so want to meet up with the desendants of the branch that my gtuncle stayed with while he was on leave during WWI. I have so many photos, and I have the house, now I just want to find some that will know the peeps in the photos. Thing is tracing the name Parks & Woods in Dover is like a never ending circle. Ah well, 3 weeks to go . . . . . . If you hear an almighty screeech - you'll know I had success! But been trying so long now dont like my chances, might have to let the fingers do the walking when I get over there and ring every one of the hundreds in the phone book. Hi Tony, hope all is as well as it can be mate, just thinking, glad Barb has your trip to look forward to will be so good for her as the weeks unfold. We got our confirmation on our Paris hotel last night . . . Champerret Elysees Hotel - just a couple of blocks from the Tower, and it was only AUD$139 a night. Nephew who is Major in Brit Army put us on to it, said it is lovely, he and his friends stay there often. Thats done the budget well, more spending money! Debs came up with this really good idea, that I should pack lightly, buy up big, and leave the winter warmers over there for next year! Makes sense to me - but Ray not liking the concept! Anyway, going to spend some more time scrolling thru the index on Ancestry - wish me luck! Have a great day all cheers luv Laurie

Morning all, Sunny today - nice cold snap though last few days. Was so nice to sleep! Hubby is home for next two weeks. He's had to take leave as all the family ruckus has really upset him :( Some good fallout though. Have received loads of family info from one of his brothers. I do have most of it, but some of the more recent funeral notices are very helpful and have cleared up at least one mystery :) My son and DIL are applying for her change of status visa today. Praying that it will go through with no hiccups. Doing lots of cross-checking of info today. Vonny
