Phew who's knitting in this heat :-S it's just been so muggy here .

Yes Mersey ... gone loom band crazy here, every time the grandchildren come it's nanny can we make loom band bracelets even though they make them at home .

Nooooo Mersey and Ann crocheting is easy :-D if you can knit with two needles you'd easily do crocheting ........ it's just one hook !! :-D :-D

AnninGlos i'am very tempted to have a go at the card making ,i've watched the craft channel and some of the cards they show are so beautiful .

Phew it's hot , i'am off to the freezer to pinch one of the Grandchildrens lollies :-D

I knitted yesterday in the shade , but it rained solidly for most of last night and today with thunder rumbling around. Looking forward to a night I am not woken up at 2 in the morning by thunder and lightening

Helping a neighbour with an open garden over the next few weeks and as I will be on the gate at least I can take my knitting and make it less boring:-D I hear the forecast is for the weather to warm up again next week here :-S

Very hot today here, very sticky, even too hot to make cards.

Mandy, I have tried, really I have tried. I have read books, watched videos and admired the crocheted blanket my friend made for me. But, although I can do a chain and sort of double and treble, it looks like nothing on earth. So back to knitting in the winter I think. :-D

How is everyone going on in this heat?? I had to buy another pair of needles this week and ended up with bamboo needles for the first time. They certainly make it easier to knit with in this hot weather - much less sticky :-D :-D

I don't know if there is a crochet hook in bamboo :-D

K, he would have decorated the garden with it if I hadn't been quick to grab it.
I'm wondering if he was brought up by a cat lol :-D

Island - Your dog and our cat must has swapped over. Ours ignores yarn, goes for walks and sits and begs for a treat. :-D

I went to Hobbycraft the other day to look at the wool in there.....geeeeez I think I will stick to my markets, and bargain shop in the City Centre :-0 :-0

Very tempting Island, but I like to feel the yarn before I buy it. I really must concentrate on the wool I have ;-)

Hello Knitwits :-D whats everyone been doing these last few weeks lots of knitting ??
With the weather being cooler it's been just right for getting the needles going again .

I've just finished knitting a baby blanket with the Pompon wool in yellow and white ,we know now that after DIL's scan the baby is going to be a boy :-D the wool shop didn't have the Pompon wool in blue and white so DIL picked the yellow and white and we've ordered a ball of the blue and white on line ,it's nearly £10 a ball but you only need the one ball for a small blanket .
I've also bought a couple of balls of blue and two of white to knit a couple of little jackets with hoods .

Nice and sunny here in Norfolk , the church bells are ringing away so there must be a wedding ,they have a nice day for it .

You are doing well and good news that your future grandchild is doing well. :-D

I finished knitting a chunky chenille Colinette jumper before we went on holiday the first week in September, but with the incredible weather I didn't need it.

I started a cardigan while on holiday but with the autumn drawing on I doubt I will finish it this year (mainly knit outside as yarns make me cough) Also I had intended to alter the pattern and part to way up the back I realised that I couldn't change it as much as I hoped without a complete redesign - Darn :-S Never mind.

How is everyone else doing :-D Have you managed to resist the wool shops before you finish knitting the current project? I never can ;-)

Well I used to be a very big knitwit when my children (and grandchildren) were small and I always had wool on the go :-) but then of course knitting went kinda' out of fashion.

Then last year my youngest grandson, who was at Edinburgh uni. complained so much of feeling the cold (heating expensive for students) that I bought a big circular needle and knitted him an infinity scarf, my first effort. Wasn't sure if he'd wear it but he loved it and said it kept out the freezing cold. :-D

Don't worry Mersey I am sure you will come back to it :-D A dark winter evening with something good on the TV and clicking may start again :-D

Good to hear to you have come back to clicking Mau - The infinity scarf looks perfect for a cold winter. Anything on your needles for this winter??

A friend in Australia on Genes mentioned recently that the National Arboretum in Canberrra asked volunteers to knit scarves for their trees in winter as part of their National Tree week. Nothing at the moment K but I'm interested in watching YTube and learning how to finger knit.
Also how to arm knit ...huge scarves and blankets, and no needles required.
Never seen this before and I'm wondering if this is an ancient art form. Anyone knit this way? :-)


edit: yarn bombing is popular here too. A few months ago our seaside pier was strewn with coloured wool projects. I especially love seeing bicycles decorated with coloured wool :-D

K, i'am sure the chunky knit jumper will be used in the winter ,what a shame you carn't knit indoors because of the yarn making you cough, think i'd have try a mask ,only don't answer the door wearing it :-D

Hi Mau, i must admit i had to google the infinity scarf to see what it looked like ,gosh that will keep him nice and warm ,it's a wonder his friends didn't want one too ,you could have had some orders !! :-D
As for the arm knitting i did some last year , i knitted my DIL a scarf , the only thing i will say about that is ....make sure you use the loo before you start as once it's on your arm it's a bit of a job to go!! LOL :-D it does knit up quick though and looked good when it was finished .

Oh yes yarn bombing i remember reading some thing about that and seeing things covered in knitting :-D

Hello Everyone. I've just started knitting a hat for a baby and I don't understand what draw up one side to form a crown means, can anyone please explain in simply English what I need to do.
