Hi Janet, thank you for your post. I have looked on 192.com and found a few possible Malcolm Cain's. I've also sent away for certificates to see if I have found the correct Malcolm. Once I know for sure then I'll either look via the Platinum subscription or find some one to be an intermediary for me. Interesting that you were born Cain too. Were you adopted?

Welcome to the boards Janet

192.com is expensive to buy credits for, there are other places which are cheaper.

Genes now have them included in their platinum subscription so do Find my past.

You will also find that many people have opted out of having their address showing on the ER as well as in the phone book

Also the approx. age is not always correct, so you can ignore that sometimes

Telephone numbers as long as not ex directory can be found at btonline

Would you please remove your email address as it is not allowed if anyone wishes to contact you privately they can click on your name and send a message

Hi Nicola,
I don't know if you found Malcolm yet,
What I would do if I were you:
Go to the website www.192.com which has British phone listings,
you will see the various Malcolm Cains, and you will have to pay a fee online, using paypal, in order to buy credits. (I'm in Canada too) Then you will see the names and addresses and phone numbers of all the various Malcolm Cains, and then write them all a letter. That would save you which various wives or children Malcolm might or might not have had. There are only 16 listed, and you can eliminate some of them because sometimes their approximate age is shown. I hope you reach him! Coindicentally, I was born a Cain, so your message caught my eye. (not related to Malcolm)

Hi Rose,

Yes, I found out that Heidemarie was re-married to a Keith R Franklin in Warwick. Not sure when she divorced Malcolm.

Are you sure Heidemarie's maiden name was Wilson? Could be she was married before.

Looks like she married a Franklin in 1973 but there's no sign of her after that.

Thank you both again. I'm getting lot's of information and trying to process everything. Also, have emailed a few people re: their family tree which seems like a possible match.

Reggie,

Don't forget FreeBMD isn't completely transcribed for 1940 and 1943:

http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/progressB.shtml

Rodney's birth is listed elsewhere.

To find who registered Celia's death you would need to purchase the cert.

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 25 Jun 2013 22:02

Why do you think that Rodney is/was Malcolm's brother?

If you look at freebmd...............you'll see what I mean

Please be careful about what info you put on here........this site isn't secure.

Wow, thank you so much for helping me. I'm new at this and not sure how to access info.

Reggie: I did find a son Michael Cain born to a Wilson and Cain 1962 in Heywood which makes me wonder if that could be there son? How did you find children Reggie? I looked on freebmd but only found Michael. I don't know who registered Celia's death.

Rose: Thankyou so much for helping me. How did you find a divorce? I checked last night but nothing showed up on this website. Any help you can give me is very much appreciated. It's taken me a long time to look for Malcolm. All I know about him is that he was a bus driver in Manchester in 1961 and 1962.

Looking forward to hearing from you!!

Possible remarriage for his wife. Too bad, because she has an unusual name and it would be easy to trace him if they had stayed married.
