I think William Snow 1831 Eltham who married George Snow's daughter Hannah, and his sister Matilda Christiana were George's nephew and niece, and that their father was George's brother.

WE know from info previously posted that William and Matilda were both offspring of a William and Sophia Snow.

I guess I did get a bit carried away - I needed the distraction tbh.

Also I have wandered off the original remit of focusing on descendants of the Hurry-Snow marriages.

As far as I can tell Madeleine Christine Snow seems to have been the only child of that 1905 marriage of Herbert Hall Snow and Christine Hurry, and as we've seen she died a spinster in 1981.

So if all George's direct Smith descendants have been followed and ruled out as knowing anything about the portrait, then I guess that leaves us and Lindsey looking at other children of Theodore Hurry and Matilda Christiana Snow.

I do still wonder whether or not George's will might have mentioned the portrait at all , but maybe Lindsey has already obtained that.

Not quite sure why the knowledge of George's portrait would pass to the Snow- Hurry line, when they are not his direct descendants?

I can't link Matilda Snow who married Theodore Hurry directly to George Snow, subject of the portrait.

BUT it looks like Matilda is almost certainly a sister to the William Snow who married George's daughter Hannah Snow, as they both have parents named William and Sophia.
