francis Report 21 May 2014 07:03

It asked me to pay to send a message to him I've already spent alot on my search I can't afford to take anything els away from our child, I have a strong feeling it wasn't him I think francis dad was called francisco sabine and died in Camden in 1991

Shirley~I,m getting the hang of it Report 21 May 2014 07:38

So this is his dad
Name: Francisco Sabine
Birth Date: 14 Aug 1915
Date of Registration: Dec 1991
Age at Death: 76
Registration district: Camden
Inferred County: London
Volume: 14
Page: 1781

Before you were born so even if Francis was the informant his address won't help as you know where he was living to 2004,

What about his mum ? Have you traced her ?

I would strongly urge you not to pay out for a researcher. They will charge you lots and can only access the same records we have done .

If your dad has opted out of the public electoral roll then his current address can't be accessed

For ref I have messaged Francis with this death following something of a trail

Name: Doris Mary Sabine
Birth Date: 30 Apr 1924
Date of Registration: Sep 1983
Age at Death: 59
Registration district: Camden
Inferred County: Greater London
Volume: 14
Page: 1857

I 'think' this may be the marriage though the name is different
1953
SABANE Franciscos T SPICER Pancras 5d 1055
SPICER Doris M SABANE Pancras 5d 1055

It doesn't help in terms of finding Francis, but does perhaps eliminate the possibilty of finding other family members alive ( as far as I can see there where no children to the marriage) .

Doris M Sabine can be found on electoral rolls, but no Francisco with her, which could be because he wasn't elligible to vote?

another long shot
but you say your dad did work for Addison lee
and they will not give you any info

OK i understand you may of already done this but

Have you tried giving Addison lee your name address and phone number
so if they or any other workers no him or were he is they could pass your dad your info
and hopefully he will get in touch with you
or you could stand out side the work place and ask the workers
and again pass on to them your info

Good Luck Shelly

JoonieCloonie Report 22 May 2014 23:18

this is Doris's birth

Births Jun 1924
Spicer Doris M (mother surname Thomas) Pancras 1b 180

Francis if you go here

http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl

and search for births with surname Spicer and mother Thomas

you will find she had several siblings, the ones in the same location as Doris that belong to a 1920 marriage ... I am not going to post the info here as people born after 1920 could be living you never know

the last birth probably to that marriage was in 1931 ... that person is in 8 or more family trees here at genesreunited

if you search trees you can then send messages to the people who own the trees
(also search trees for the other children, I had just tried two and found those results)

you never know, one of them could be a niece or nephew of Doris
which would be a cousin of your dad

I know I have cousins that I couldn't locate easily myself, but for most of them I could find a family member who would know where they are

so it could be worth asking the people with those trees whether they know anything about your dad

if they have a current email address in their account at this site, they will receive a notice that you have sent a message

in fact, one person has Doris in their tree

back to the Australian possibility, yes, if you want to send a message through LinkedIn, you have to pay, but using the info in the telephone directory is completely free of charge, no?

... you said you didn't want to pay for that right after saying you would spend up to a four figure sum for a tracing service ...

one more thing to note ... there was a Sabine birth in Camden district in 1997 and I see no marriage to match the parents' names and no Sabine marriage in the vicinity at all ... and in fact several other births to the same parents after that (up to 2005 when records end) ... some of the names seeming to be Italian

the eldest of them is probably on facebook ... because it is a name I associate with a girl but the person on facebook is male (as the middle name for that birth in the index indicates)

I will send you some details ... we do all expect you plan to be discreet as Sirius mentioned :-)

JoonieCloonie

JoonieCloonie Report 22 May 2014 23:21

well how interesting, Francis appears to have deleted his account

(or it could be the free trial expired ... but I would have thought that the account would then just become a free account we could still send messages to ... perhaps it had to be cancelled in order to avoid paying I guess)

edit ... Francis if you are still reading, consider what you told us about the sports team your dad and you support ... and then look for a name at Facebook ...

here's an idea

you can open a free account here anytime (and have a family tree to go with it if you like)

the other thing you can do with a free account is post a message on the Success Stories board

if you were to feel like posting the success story that the helpers here found you a way of contacting your dad's family (because in fact I am pretty sure I have done that) ...

then we would be able to send messages to you at your new free account once we saw that story posted

Hi Joonie,

I had also been in contact with Francis via PM and assuming that the FB account I found was the same one you did, Francis has several leads to follow up but I do know he was able to make contact, though how it went after the initial query i don't know. Just to confirm that I had also found the various births you have noted so Francis has plenty to go on. :-)

edit, I hadn't checked but yes i can see that Francis' messages have gone from my inbox. I believe he was on a free trial so that may be the reason. I hope things work out ok for him anyway :-)

JoonieCloonie

JoonieCloonie Report 23 May 2014 15:33

aha Sirius, that is why jax posted a thread on this board asking people who send PMs to explain in the thread what they sent (you only mentioned the Doris death and I didn't realize the 'old FB link' referred to the young person)

but glad to hear Francis did have that info ... which I couldn't do any more with, but in a couple of years it may be more useful!

Sorry about that Joonie ( not mentioning on here that is) I got a bit involved with the search and was off on so many trails at once I forgot to mention on here ( also was very aware of the ages of people I was looking at, hence the need for discretion generally) .

But duly noted that i should give a heads up on what might be happening behind the scenes in future :-)
