Sorry as my family on that side were v quiet about there family.
William irvine walker was not olive and hildas father, archibald meakin was,
We dont know who john kenneth walkers father was.but hilda and olive were both brough up as walkers,in fact they thought there father was william irvine walker, but infact he was archibald meakin,my mum hilda and olive found this out later in life,
But we think john kenneth walker found out earlier, hence joing the army and never been seen again, but we do know that emily roberts my grandma did meet john kenneth at some point after the war,but only briefly,my auntie has john kenneth walkers birth cert, the record i have found on genes is emily roberts registration for john kenneth walker born hulme manchester 13.12.1921.these are the only facts we have,i have emily roberts living with archibald meakin in a census in liverpool but no mention of any children.but we do know that a.j.meakin was married to another person,
So this is why it was hush hush, for those days,
So finding john kenneth walker will be prob near inposible

Going on the fact you say he married a Swedish girl.
There is a marriage to a Freda E Amsdorf in 1942.
There are to sons from the marriage, born 1942 and 1950

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 5 Jun 2020 10:45

Freda Eveline Amsdorf wasn't Swedish . (But of course George's family lore may be mistaken).

Born West Derby , 25 Aug 1917.
1939: living with mother Lily (widow - nee Hesketh) at 25 Shalcross St, Liverpool.
Died 1993 Liverpool.

Her father Frederick Louis born Liverpool 1886 ( birth reg as Louis Amstoff ):
Listed as Louis at birth, in 1891 & 1901 censuses, at death and burial.
Died 1929. Address at burial: 25 Shalcross St.
His father Henry born Austria per 1891 and 1901, though transcription of naturalisation record (1894) says born Galicia.
Can't view the image of naturalisation document on Ancestry - the image just flashes up for a second then disappears again.

BTW- George said the man married a Swiss girl - not Swedish. Not that there's a marriage anywhere on freebmd for John K Walker to a name which seems non-UK in origin

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 5 Jun 2020 12:30

True - in that case Freda may well be the correct one - Austrian antecedents - not too far from being Swiss, I suppose!

But the snag is James Henry Walker, not the suggested William Irvine Walker.

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 5 Jun 2020 13:51

Also the age is wrong - plus no second forename, and, allegedly, he was known as 'Kenny'

13 Shallcross Street is occupied by people named Lamb in 1939

Elizabeth Report 5 Jun 2020 17:50

AG have i lost the plot or did George not say his aunty had the birth cert and they didn't know who his father was.
Are we looking for John K Walker reg Chorlton jfm qt of 1921

Elizabeth

Elizabeth Report 5 Jun 2020 18:33

I came to the conclusion on the marriage, because George said he joined the forces at 15yrs old, so he could have lied about his age and his father has he did not have his birth cert.

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 5 Jun 2020 19:27

Elizabeth -
I find it very hard to figure out exactly what George is saying about John K's father.

Yes, it seems we are talking about the 1921 Chorlton birth.

George said earlier,
"John kenneth walker born 13 dec 1920 mother emily roberts born hulme manchester father william irvine walker, but my mums and aunties cert, say william irvine walker.
But we know archibald meakin was there biological father, they say they never met a william irvine walker,it wasnt until later in life william irvine walker was infact archibald meakin"

I THINK that means the birth cert says his father was William Irvine Walker - and certainly as he was registered as Walker, a Walker father must have been named.

George MAY be saying that Archibald Meakin and William Irvine Walker may have been one and the same person ??

Is that what you mean, George?

EDIT:
On the other thread George says he has traced the Meakin line - so presumably William was NOT the same person as Archibald Meakin.
This death was suggested as being William's, though George didn't say if it was or not:
