On the back of my windfall I paid the leccy bill and ordered a new mobility scooter, nearly a grand !

I would have preferred an extended membership,as credits will sit unused, but hey I'll take my 30 pieces of silver and carry on moaning !

I received a reply from Genes re: my thread. Why do I not believe them?

They said another member had requested review of my post. They also said it would be removed as the emails were sent to all of those affected by site performance and shouldn't be copied onto the boards.

I see my thread has been deleted although the same email has been copied on this thread.

I'm afraid my opinion of Genes Reunited is slowly getting lower and lower.

MargaretM Report 29 Oct 2011 12:43

So, who's the teacher's pet here, Fanny? GR deleted my thread because I had posted the email but yours has been allowed to stay even though you posted the same email.

Oooo dear Margee I didnt think of that.. :-D

Makes a first for me to be Teachers pet then cos I was always Teachers Pet Hate at every school I went to.

One teacher told me when I was age 12 that I was one Arrogant B**ch and when I asked him what arrogant meant (please sir) he went bolistic....The days when you stood in the corner and he threw everything he could lay his hands on at you....But he was a first class History Teacher and everyone was scared stiff of him, cept me :-D

Fans-you can take my credits..
one at a time.

Odd choices on GRs part.
I don't think I was even trying to access this site during that period.

Silly method.

Maureen
Edit:
Marg-did have to chuckle. You (of all people) getting reviewed for something you'd said in a post.

Oh Fans, you sound as if you were a bit of a holy terror in your time!

Me, I was just the opposite, shy, timid, a good student, wouldn't say "Boo" to anyone.

I must say it's quite exciting having my post requested for review and having my thread deleted by GR. For the first time in my life I feel like a naughty girl! (OK, OK, a naughty old lady!)

At least I gave Maureen a chuckle.

FannyByGaslight Report 31 Oct 2011 14:53

My dear MoinNY.

I can not take any credit from you as credit due where credit is due and you earn much credit....Not saying what for though.. :-P

Margee.
Maybe they havent deleted me cos I have rectified the Arrogant B thingy and am now a shy, retiring and timid thing.

YEAH RIGHT.................... ;-) ;-) ;-)

Very nice email recieved from GR...Thank you GR....Marks that on me calender as never had such a nice one before from them or indeed any as I remember except to ask for me sub..... :-D

Joy

Joy Report 31 Oct 2011 21:07

I think that I shall ask for 3 days extra subs ;-)

MargaretM

MargaretM Report 31 Oct 2011 21:29

Mmm, let's see, I pay 7.50 a year. That works out to about 2 pennies a day. 3 extra days and I've got sixpence, jolly, jolly sixpence! What are my 30 free credits worth? Absolutely nothing when I've got worldwide Ancestry.

jax

jax Report 31 Oct 2011 21:34

Ummm

That got me thinking as I pay £20 a year so it would have been worth about 16p for me :-D

Unless my maths is not that good?

Joy

Joy Report 31 Oct 2011 21:43

My free credits are worth nothing to me - we subscribe to ancestry, and find my past currently.

A few years ago we were all given an extra 6 (or 7?) extra days when the site did not function properly.

FannyByGaslight

FannyByGaslight Report 31 Oct 2011 22:06

I pay £20 a year too...Its not fair...Sob....How do I get to pay only £7.50p a year Margee...???

Walks off weeping and wailing...
Stomping feet to the tune of ..Its not FAIR...

16p can get you a pack of Aspirin at Boots Jax....Helps when searching for peoples "lost rellies"(how remiss to mislay a rellie I say) give you a headache maybe... :-D

MargaretM Report 31 Oct 2011 23:05

Maybe I am a teacher's pet after all?

Chris in Sussex

Chris in Sussex Report 1 Nov 2011 07:49

Joy we got a weeks extended membership last time.

I got the credits but of no use to me as I have Ancestry and Findmypast.

Maybe those of us who don't want them could have them 'pooled' and hold a Christmas raffle :-D :-D

Jonesey

Jonesey Report 1 Nov 2011 09:19

Its all right for some, I got nuttin and me an old age pensioner!

That 16p would come in very handy. It could have paid for about 1 hours use of my heating system (One bar electric fire) or provided extra sustenance (3 slices of dry bread) or even enabled me to treat myself to a sprout in my bowl of gruel on Christmas day.

Some people have all the luck. ;-)

Cynthia Report 1 Nov 2011 10:51

Poor ole' Jonesey. Tis a shame you have fallen on Hard Times. You'll be calling yourself Oliver Twist next . You had better get out and sing a Christmas Carol before returning to your Bleak House but don't have any Great Expectations!

Now to our Mutual Friend........Fans.......I too only pay £7.50 and I think it is to do with just constantly renewing rather than letting membership lapse - even for a day.
