Phil's latest:

"UPDATE: Tuesday 24 Jan 15:20 UK TIME - We are currently testing and will hopefully do a release tomorrow - containing all the changes that we tried to release last week, a couple of bug fixes on Genes, some fixes to the new tree.... and a link to let members use the old tree while we ironing out any issues with the new version!"

In case you hadn't noticed, we rolled out the new code from last week, with a couple of bug fixes and ..... the old tree. Platinum and Standard members still get access to the new tree - as an additional test option. This may be opened up to all members in the next few days while we try to resolve the issues we were experiencing.

Thanks Phil

I have been looking at the new tree again but have not found anything that has so far been fixed.

I did find that once your release had taken place, I had to update my Favourites link to access Genes.
It now reads as
:
http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/account.page/home

whereas it used to contain my membership number.

I think that may catch some people out, but is a good move to protect security :-)

Stephen
That is ONE of the problems I had reported and it only seems to apply with Internet Explorer.

I tried the same with Mozilla Firefox and it worked perfectly.

I tried again earlier today and got the same problem with IE8 as follows

With IE8, yes, you get a list of names but if you click on one than IE complains that Popups are blocked. So click on temporarily allow.
Try again.
New window opens with a copy of tree but not at the ndividual selected. (Set to "Home" position)

I have not yet tried to see if the data entry problem with new individuals is fixed yet as I am waiting information to help grow my tree. ;-)

I have just tried the Data Entry problem again using Mozilla Firefox and no change.
Tried to enter the Partner for a Cousin's Marriage.
Initially went in OK so I pressed the Right Tab to get the Details Pane up
Added place of Birth but no place to enter Marraige and Place.
Saved the Change and closed the Pane to find I had an unrelated entry.
Deleted the Individual and gave Feedback.
Noticed also that the record count was one less than I had before entering the person
Quitted new tree and went into old tree. Record count is one more than when I started. Parther I had entered in New tree is there. Added Birth Place and Marriage OK.

Hi Phil,

Just wondered what progress is being made on getting the problems sorted on the new tree.

I tried the Tree Search function again yesterday with IE8 and there was no change on that reported previously.
