Christine, it's probably because we're no better placed to make a connection than you are, unfortunately.

The only way would be to plot the trees of both families to see if they overlap in any way.

As you're aware, with a name like Evans it could be a humongous job.

Would there be a reason why no-one is keen to assist me on this one? As I would appreciate some feedback; but not of rude content please?

Thank you

Christine - you can check ownership of houses on Land Registry - www.landregistry.gov.uk.

But, bear in mind that the owner of the house may not have been the occupant.

Christine

Christine Report 9 Feb 2011 18:20

Is there a source which I can search of who owns houses please?

I've linked up William George Evans marrying Emily Evans Sept 1858. So Emily Evans marries an Evans??? Do they produce two girls with the same names as her sisters? OR am I imagining this?

Any help would be truly appreciated.

Thank you for your help so far. This is merely hearsay and the only other information is that he is believed to have been a Captain in Queen Victoria's Dragoon Guards as he was presented with a sword by HRH in the name of William Evans was known as Louie would have been early 1900's as my father was taken to see him as a boy and my father was born in 1895. William (Louie) was allegedly his grandfather but not through marriage. I've tried the freebmd but I wandered if I could track him down as he lived in Brock Street, Bath.

There are lots of records for people with first name Captain on freebmd but none for Evans. ( up to 1940 anyway)
