Hello Everyone Please can you help me again I have tried to find Richard Higgs born 1790 West Hanney,Berks,his wife Mary born 1819 in South Molton,Devon and son Richard born 1840 in Paddington on the 1841 census.There were more children but they were all born after the 1841 census.I have my family in 1851( FGGS),1861 and 1871.By 1881 Mary was a widow.Fingers crossed you will have better luck than me!!!!!!!!

All noted as not being born in the County. It's very faded and I can't make out Richard's occupation very well but it could be Lock Keeper??

This may be something and thereagain it may be nothing....but this is following on from what Mike has said about Richard and Mary Ann perhaps marrying after the children were born

Wendy, I note you say that Mary was a widow by the 1881 census but the Richard Higgs born West Hanney was still alive and living in Oxfordshire. Perhaps your Richard was born Coleshill Berks as per the 1861 census if so then the following could be his baptism which ties in with the father given on the marriage

My Higgs all came from West Hanney in the early years.Richard and Mary married after the children were born as Mike says I haven't a clue why they left it so late.
I will have a look at the 1841 entry that Asta pointed out.
In 1851 they lived at 6 Elms Lane Paddington but when I tried an Elms Lane address for 1841 it couldn't be found.
