Hi I am trying to find a birth records for a Rebecca Trickett or Louisa Rebecca Trickett born about 1834. Father George Trickett Mother Louisa Trickett nee Officer/Offiler They were married 1832 9th July, Parish of Sneinton,City of Nottingham Louisa (mother) was born in Tewkesbury,Gloucestershire. she was christened 6th April 1817 in Tewkesbury, Am trying to comfirn if there was actually a child born between these two, as George was in goal from late Sept 1832 until late Sept 1833, he was sentenced as a convict for life to Australia, and arrived in early 1834. If possible would like certificate numbers as to order certificates for confirmation of birth. Any help, would be greatly appreciated. cheers Christine Australia

Births, marriages and deaths weren't registered until 1 July 1837 so you're not going to find a certificate.

You won't get a certificate as registrations didn't begin until Sept qtr 1837.
The best you can hope for is a baptism but there's nothing showing on IGI.

Thanks for the quick replys. I know that there is a tree on ancestry with a Rebecca if it is thru a Yvonne or yvonnegoldtrail, then there is also doubts as to her being a Trickett, her connection is back around 1700 and is a daughter of a Trickett, the daughter married etc and goes on for about 4 generations, and then switches to the husbands wife fathers side, and goes down to about 4-5 generations and then her, funny part is, that she does not have her side on line for the Trickett family that I have found, but decided to go down my line as I am a direct descendent until my grandmother, and is using this as her Trickett family with all the people in it, some who became historians. anyway if it is her, she has not done any research on Rebecca as I asked where she got the info from but she was too busy to answer me. If it is not her, then would be interested to know who she got info from, as George was in goal from late 1832 until late 1833, as he was convicted and sentenced to death, but was later given life in Australia, and arrived in Sydney Cove, early 1834. Does the wife have visits to her husband if he was a convict and in goal or if he is on another ship, because the goal is too full and is awaiting for the ship to come in to take him to Sydney Cove, Australia,. would someone have any info on that please as well. thanks Christine

OK this Rebecca Tricket , what happened to her, we should trace back from what you know for sure about her.
George Tricket , there are 2 transported at around the same time 1. on ship Fairlie 1833 trial in Lincolnshire 2. on ship Westmoreland 1834 trial in Nottingham
I can't find this marriage of George Tricket to Louisa Officer except as an unsourced records on family trees. Do you have the actual record?

I have seen some of the trees on ancestry with this family in and the data relating to Rebecca Louisa Tricket seems to have been plucked out of thin air
There is a hand written note attached to one of the trees supposedly the marriage of Louisa Officer to George.
According to the Australian trees George married in Aus in 1844
If you really want to find out about this Rebecca then I suggest that you get her marriage certificate and clear up the dispute once and for all.

Hi Thanks again, I have a copy of George and Louisa's marriage in 1832, she was under age when she married George as she was born 1917, but she married with her parents consent. George was sent out on the Fairlie to Sydney. My big question is, how could Louisa get pregnant if George was either in goal or in the hull of a ship because the goals were too full. The was arrested 2 months after they were married in 1832 and the daughter was born about 1834. That is what my query is about, as would really like to know. I know a James Trickett and wife had a daughter Louisa or Rebecca in 1834. cheers Christine. ps thanks so much for what you have already found. so much appreciated.

Extract from The Morning Post 1815 all strangers are admitted indiscriminately from 8 in the morning till 10 at night to visit the prisoners not adjudged to be on solitary confinement and no questions are asked as to whether the women conduct themselves well. The Standard 1834 extract Humanely ordered the visiting hour from 12 till 1 as that time was more convenient than any other for the class of persons who were likely to visit prisons

HI Christine
make sure that you confirm the findings with the actual certificates.
The Louisa Officer who married John Summers was from Tewksbury Gloucestershire and this does not tie in with the Offelow/Ofliler family coming from Nottinghamshire. It is unusual for a second marriage to be listed under the wife's maiden name. It is usually the married name.
Your George Tricket who ended up in Australia...what was his occupation. The one who married Louisa Offiler and had a child Rebecca was a shoemaker. Does his marriage certificate in Australia say that he had been married before?
