i don't have the death certifcate for lilian may taylor do you think that i should try and find her death on here before i order it.
I can't ask my dad or his sister because my dad has always said that his mother was alice and i can't ask my aunt because she would not like it.
all the information what you have put on here seems possibly

tempest Report 1 Dec 2010 20:13

ok so at the moment it seems that possibly

your grandfather married your grandmother Lily May Taylor in 1924

your grandfather had an affair with Alice May Everitt which resulted in your Aunts birth in 1937

your grandfather got back with your grandmother Lilian May Robinson nee Taylor and had your Dad in 1940.

your grandmother Lilian May Robinson formerly Taylor dies between 1940 and 1948 (do you have the death cert?)

your grandfather marries Alice May Everitt in 1948 (mother of your aunt)

could either your dad or aunt help you verify?

great hopefully you are on the way to sorting it out.

you need to check the full names on the certs, marriage certs hopefully give all former surnames names of the woman if she had been married previously as well as her maiden name.

Just to help me, I will summarise what we have so far......

marriage cert of George L Robinson to Lily May Taylor in 1924, you are waiting for this, when you get it hopefully it will give their ages, fathers names, addresses etc which we need to track down her death properly

marriage cert for George L Robinson (widower) to Alice M Everitt in 1948, you now have this.

Could you tell us what does it say exactly (fathers full names and occupations, Alice's names ie formerly ........, what was her marital status on it, ages of both Alice and George, names of witnesses)

The actual birth certs for both your father and aunt, again might give you all former surnames of the mothers

Aunts birth cert 1937 says mothers maiden name Alice May Everitt, is the father's name George Lockwood Robinson?

Dad's birth cert 1940 says fathers name George Lockwood Robinson mothers name Lilian May Robinson formerly Taylor.
