Hi Sharon,

Many thanks for checking out Southwell for my Laybourne's - it's an absolute mystery where those children were baptised!!

At least I can continue on with my search elsewhere now!!

Hi Andrew/Sharon

I understand from posting this on a thread this evening that you have access to Notts parish records CDs. Would you mind checking to see if there is anything relevant regarding my ancestor at Southwell please?

I am looking for early baptism dates between 1688 & 1694 children born with the parents Thomas Laybourne & Isabella (Layborn/Leybourne/Laborn etc)
I believe they had children Talbot, Frances, Isabella & maybe Ann (perhaps others) But I cannot find where these children were born & baptised.

Thomas himself was prebendary at Southwell from 1680 to 1710 (he then went on to Bulmer). I don't know if he lived in the parish or not, if he did the he must have baptised his children there.
Thanks

Cheryl

Hi Andrew,
I don`t know if you can help me. I am looking for any info on a Reginald Walters. His history is very sketchy.
My wife wants to trace him as he is her father.
He was `possibly` born in Notts. We have a pic of him in his WW2 uniform taken in Mansfield. He was in the Notts Foresters in the early part of WW2 and moved to East Staffs Regiment. He enlisted underage in the army, so perhaps at 16. Makes his birth about 1923. Any info however vague would be of immense help. There is talk he was on the front page of The Daily Mirror in 1953 wirh regard to a crime.
