The name is too common for a search to be made without that info...............

Try freebmd for Edward's birth............it covers up to around 1920

The only way to be sure you have the right one is to order cert(s) quoting father's name as a checking point.

There is no way to learn the father's forename from the GRO index.

Emma,

If her age is correct.. on 17 Dec 1936 ....@19 she could have been 20 the next day so making her bn end of 1916.....or she could have been 19 during 1936 ....making her bn 1917,

If she was born out of wedlock then as Phyliss M Bishop......there are 2 possiblitys,,,,place of birth /marriage and death/can be many miles apart.

What is the addresses of them on the marriage certificate,?

You say 'Edward died in war'..........do you mean that he was a War casualty? In which year did he die?

How old was he on the marriage cert? What date was the marriage? Who were the witnesses?

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 24 Apr 2008 15:04
