Michelle,

I have possibly found a marriage for your Marjorie.

James Parker, Repton, 7b 1625, 2Q 1940.

You'll need to order the cert to check the fathers name.

Good Luck

Hi . Thank you for offering help. I am stuck, I am trying to find the birth of Florence May Taylor. Her father being John Taylor mother Sarah Ellen we do not know her maiden name.

Now for the strange part on Florences Marriage cert she is aged 29 in 1943 I have the cert, but on her death cert she is 45 I have this cert as well. So we are not quite certain when she was born, around 1913-14.

Sarah Ellen died in 1943 just befor Florence married.

We do not know where she was born, but she was living in Consett, Durham when she died.

As her husband had been part from her for a long while he may have put the wrong age on the cert.

Her son was 10 when she died. her husband died in1959. His name was William James Callaghan.

She had an elder sister called Audrey. I can not seem to find either births (due to no maiden name of their mother) any help would be very very gratefully recieved as her son knows very little of this side of his family . Thank you again

Hi Tracey and Wayne,

Can you please help, My Grandad was stanley nield born 1912. at 70, Bridson St Pendleton Salford, and it states on his birth certificate that his parents were john Nield and Alice Dodd. i have searched the census returns but had no feed back at all.so i'm wondering if i have the wrong information. could you plrase find any of them going as far back as possible on the census returns, thanking you in advance, regards Marie.

WayneTracey

WayneTracey Report 4 Jul 2008 21:42

Marie,

Firstly you need to order their marriage certificate to establish their ages...

Marriages Dec 1911
DODD Alice Wigan 8c 62
Nield Robert Wigan 8c 62

Once you have their marriage cert you will be able to find them with a little more surity than just guesswork.

You really do need to establish their birth years first. I have looked at the 1901 census and Nield is a popular name in Lancashire....
