	hope you all have a good night! Colin ..... thanks for that. I'm in Canada, and we have a similar system, each province keeps its own records. But also ....... we have very strict rules about release of information. The 100 year or 80 year rule I'm the immigrant, so have never had to use the Canadian records very much ...... despite being asked several times by people who see the Canada in my name. I really don't know how to find the information. Except ... it is no good saying "came to Canada"! You have to know the province, AND the province of arrival. Did they come by ship to Halifax or Montreal, or to the US (usually New York but not always) and then overland to Canada, to which port of entry!
