Thelma Report 5 Jul 2010 01:22

I have found further information on Maggie & Jeanie Graham.
As already stated Maggie Graham married John Wilson & they migrated to Canada I know to Wallace,Wellington City Ontario, Canada but although I have found records of the Wilson siblings I cannot find anything further on Maggie & John Wilson.
Jeanie Graham I have found married Edward Charles Harteilb in Mahoning, Ohio, USA on the 03/07/1909.
I found them then on the 1910 USA Census at North Braddock Ward 1 Allegheny, Pennsylvania USA, it stated they migrated in 1907.
I know that they both died in Riverside Hemet, California Charles in 1974 & Jeanie in 1978.
I believe they had 6 children but I can't find them other than an Alva Harteib.
Thank you to those who have tried to help me put this family together.
Telly

Thelma - thanks for the update. I guess you'll have to wait until January now, as that's when the 1921 Ontario census gets released.

I know you said you've solved the Hartleibs, so I guess you have the stuff below, but...

Spelling corrections:
Tavistock is in East Zorra Twp, Oxford Co [Zorra, not Zurra]
Zurich is in Hay Twp, Huron Co [Zurich, not Zurick]
These are both the modern spellings and the 1880s spellings - for the latter check:

Re "Riverside Hemet, California"
This just looks wrong - Hemet is abt 50km SE of Riverside, but still in Riverside County.
I think you need to specify the county - although I lived in CA for 5y and have some familiarity with Riverside co, I'd not heard of it (but I had heard of its neighbour, San Jacinto, just 5km to NE). I would write it as Hemet, Riverside Co, California.

Re "Wallace TWP Wellington City, Ontario, Canada"
This just looks wrong - the normal form is AAA township, BBB county, Ontario, Canada.
However, this raises another problem - Wallace Twp is in Perth Co, not Wellington Co, although 50% of Wallace Twp is adjacent to Wellingon Co - Minto Twp on the E end of the N edge, and Maryborough Twp on the SE edge.

There is one Graham h/h in Wallace Twp - all Ontario born:

Chuck

Chuck Report 22 May 2013 22:01

My grandfather was Edward Charles Hartleib and he married Jeanie Graham. They had six children, born in this ordeer: Charles, George, Raymond, Catherine (my mother), and twins Alva (Bud) and Alma.
Jeanie and Edward Charles Hartleib lived in Windsor, Ontario for many years, then moved to Hemet California to be with their daughter Alma and her husband Art Brook. They both died in Hemet, California but were brought back to Windsor for burial.
I remember that my grandmother, Jeanie Graham Hartleib died in December, 1970 while my grandfather, Edward Charles, died much earlier, I believe around 1963 as I was still very young when the call came from California.
My mother, Catherine Graham Hartleib, married my father, Alfred Emile Henri in Windsor, Ontario and then moved to Tecumseh, Ontario. They had two children, Jeanie Catherine born August 14, 1945 and me, Charles Alfred Henri, born May 29, 1955.
My mother died on April 27, 1970 and my father died on October 1, 1978.
As I was growing up in Tecumseh, Ontario I lived next door to my Uncle Bud (Alva) and Aunt Maxine. I left Tecumseh in August, 1978 to pursue a career in teaching.
My sister lives in Belle River, ON.
Uncle Bud and Aunt Maxine had five children, oldest to youngest: Tom, Don, Doug, Betty and Dave. Aunt Maxine just passed away in February, 2013.
I am not good with dates, but I hope this helps.
