I'd say there's every likelihood that the tree owner has made some leaps of faith in their recording of his details...and that others have blindly copied without proof :-|

Cherilyn Report 10 Apr 2019 11:22

His birth and the census both show him as Tom not Thomas.

There is a Tom DAVY who died in Katoomba in 1974 (reg 51693) but no parents details or his age.

BUT the wonderful Ryerson Index has this:
DAVY Tom
Death 16MAY1974 aged 92 at Katoomba, late of Leura
Death notice in Sydney Morning Herald on 18MAY1974

Which does indeed fit your dates! :-D

Check here and see if you can get a volunteer newspaper lookup - http://ryersonindex.org/search.php

PS This is in the beautiful Blue Mountains.

It looks as though Cherlyn hasn’t returned for over a year.

Cindy, if you repost your request on the Find Ancestors or Find living ancestors board someone may be able to help you.

BUT you really must give more information. Even without the very common surname you just have not given enough detail.

Cindy -

When you post your request on EITHER the "Find Ancestors" or "Find Living Relatives" board - NOT both, as the same people look at both boards -

at the very least, you need to tell us -

What country did they live in? I'm assuming Australia, as you've posted on this "Lookup offer for Australia" thread - but you need to confirm that.
Did they emigrate to Australia from the UK?

What town?
When and where was Mary Ann born? - even a rough idea will help.

If they married in England, there's a possible marriage in 1868 in Woodbridge, Suffolk.
But no birth of a daughter Mary Ann, at least not in England.

A son Robert was born in 1870 in Woodbridge.

EDIT:
Yes, that's probably the couple you mean.
A tree on Ancestry says they had a daughter Mary Ann, born 1883 in Islington, NSW, offering this as "proof":

.Australia, Birth Index, 1788-1922
Name Mary Ann Brown
Birth Date 1883
Birth Place New South Wales
Registration Year 1883
Registration Place Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia
Father John Brown
Mother Elizabeth
Registration Number 27039

IF Elizabeth Murrell was indeed her mother, she is in 1851, 1861, and 1871 UK censuses -
but I won't post it all here, as this thread is about Australian records.
I'll wait until you re-post as advised.

A funeral notice for Arthur Norman Cheney was published on 23.11.2018 for a funeral on 29.11.2018 in the West Australian Times and the Busselton Dunsborough Times. Are you able to provide me with a copy of the entry please. Details are taken from the Ryerson website.

Bruce -

Cherilyn hasn't posted on this thread since 2019, and hasn't replied to three other requests for help since then.

You can try sending her a private message. Click on her name in green at the top of one of her posts.
She may or may not receive it and be able and willing to reply.

However, from a Google search for his name, here is the West Australian notice:
